Hello All,

Recently purchased a R34GT-T that came with the Xenon headlights. As you know these lights look great!! :)

The only problem I have is that the high beams look yellow when they are turned on and although it is not anything major I am a bit anal and wish them to be whiter so they blend in with the Xenons.

I pulled the High beam globe out but it was a globe that I have never seen before. Not sure if it is H1 H2 etc, looks totally different.

I hope someone can point me in the right direction and tell me what type/part these high beams globes are.

Pictures below.

Also do you know what type the park lights are for these headlights as well? Pls let me know a pic of the headlights are required!

Great forums here!! :D

Thanks n15m0,

True about the high beamers, may not be worth it. Just did a quick search on google and not much came up for HIR1. What happens if this blows in the future, where can I get them?

I called Autobarn and they said they never heard if the HIR1 globe and when the times comes to replace just conver the connect to a H1 and install a H1 globe in. What are your thoughts?

Also any idea how to get to the parker lights? Do i have to unscrew the whole healight assembly?

Thanks.

I'm pretty sure they are HIR1, thats whats written on top of the headlight assembly...my left one has been blown for ages...never bothered to replace yet...coz I never use high beam much..

Parkers are piss easy...(if you have small hands like me). No need to remove headlight assembly. Just reach inside the corners where the parkers are..there is a twist knob thingy...turn it and the whole thing comes out with the bulb itself...the battery side might be easier that the air filter side..might have to move the filter slightly to get into it if you have big hands...

replaced mine in like 1min for both..:D

Yeah as much as i dont like to admit it, i have been thinking exactly the same thing. I already had the blue phillips parkers and they still looked really yellow next to the xenons, so i bought some LED globes from Autobarn for like 6 bucks, and they look so much better, very happy with them.

I replaced mine when the headlights were out about a year ago.

I bought mine from Autobahn, they were a standard item.

They will need a very slight modification with a file, but not much.

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
