strut braces are supposed to provide some improvement to the handling of a car. The theory is that the brace stops the suspension mount points from moving relative to each other, thus limiting camber changes under load.

installation is rather straight forward. First remove the nuts from the top of the strut, then place the bracket over the studs, re-install the nuts and tighten. Do the same with the other side, then adjust the bolts in the bar to the length required, tighten the lock nuts and install the bar. There should not be any tension or compression on the bar at rest. The purpose of a strut brace is to only hold the strut towers where they are, not pull them in or push them out.

i have both front and rear strut braces in my r33, and i know its not a r32 - but i have found minimal improvements in handling (indicating that maybe my strut towers have very minimal movement - and hence no need for them)

however - the best money i've ever spent in handling would have to be swaybars, followed very closely by turbo item brakes.

so maybe look into them if your considering some handling improvements

I payed bout 30bux for mine from memory. I know other people say they dont notice much of a difference but i certainly did.

i find it cut down my understeer when pushed really hard, car also feels a hell ova lot firmer in the front end. im gunna get one for the rear eventually.

definately a worthwhile mod in my opinion.

u'd put the rears on the rear struts... easier on the r32s as there's no battery and stuff like in the r33s.

r33s there's two major types of strut braces:

- one which sits on top of the struts and sits above the parcel shelf.

- one which sits on the rear side of the struts, and comes into the boot area (ie. series ii and gtr comes with them as standard (or an option - i forget)

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
