well got defected last night for the following:

1) Pod Filter (only got a heat sheild around it, will wack a lid on now)

2) BOV

3) Exhaust modified no report (however it should be under 90dB)

4) Modified bonnet lid no report (CF bonnet)

5) Reverse lights not working ( got the reverse light switch indicator in my garage, need to put it in)

6) windscreen washers not working (had no fliud)

IF any1 can PM me a place to clear the defect without me having to mess aroudn taking the BOV off, or swapping the bonnet around ( i have the stocker in my garage) as i am going to melb for work halfway through next week and wont have time, it would be greatly appreciated...

Has anyone had any experience with a friendly engineer, who could do a report for my car.... preferably 1 where he could cover my bonnet, however i realise the issue with CF bonnets.

Thanx and all help appreciated :)

eeek.

Man, whenever I hear of a defect, i get scared. hasn't happened to me yet, although I did drive past a defect station a few weekends ago, on the pacific highway near the F3 of all places.

I was tucked in behind a bus, as a friendly Taxi driver flashed me a warning.

good luck with clearing it all Susp., let us all know how u go, as I'm sure I'll need the info sometime soon.

Just out of curiosity, where did it happen?

Can't really help, but points 4 & 5 seem a little rough. Technically speaking, I guess each point mentioned could be seen as a defect, but they must have really had it in for you if they went to the effort of checking all those minor little things...

Good luck getting it all sorted.

Well its only fair that club members get the benefits - im sure you understand

Without listing names and numbers, which would defeat the point, there are several places listed with engineers on staff who can, and have helped out SAU'ers before. Price guides included.

I would tell you the names myself, but its just not fair to paying members - sorry

Im not an engineer, so i cant really answer that

The thread includes names and numbers of engineers aswel as price guides, not a list of what they will pass and what they wont

Im sure when some of the members who have been through this see this thread, they will help you with specifics, but like i said.....im not an engineer

    • Seems like a decent result for a modded JZX110. They are bulky in comparison to the 100 and 90 models (which I'd prefer myself) but they are getting very few and far between here in JP these days. Thanks for the detailed review and the import process into the UK. I also have a car which I'm hoping to export from Japan at some stage so it's good to know if someone from the UK was interested in it. By the way the corrosion underneath is par for the course for cars which were located in/near the mountains or along the Japan sea coastline. They get huge amounts of snow every winter and the sodium chloride is used on the roads. Many cars have some kind of rubber like treatment underneath but they tend to limit it to the wheel arches underbody and fuel tank. Suspension arms and sub-frames will have similar corrosion to your JZX110 which is a common sight. See it all the time and car dealers here generally don't even mention it unless asked.
    • If the sound goes away when you clutch in, the 1.5/2 way diffs are just shit, and you are a normal person. The diff is likely "fine" but driving at anything under 30kmh is a violent horrible experience. It would be exaggerated with solid diff bushings and subframe bushings if you have those.
