Strange Noise From New Twin Plate (solid Centre)

Hi guys,

I've just had a new twin plate clutch with a solid centre (from Direct Clutch in Brisbane) installed in my R33 over the weekend, but have noticed that it makes a noticeable grinding noise particularly in 3rd and 4th gears when under load at low revs (between 2000-2500rpm). Is this normal???

The noise is a bit intermittent as it doesn't seem to occur all the time (more often than not though), but it doesn't seem to affect the way the car drives or feels even when it's making the grinding noise. Otherwise, the clutch seems to be working fine and clamping well.

I'm going to speak with my mechanic tomorrow, but as I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to clutches, hopefully someone can clarify whether it does sound like I have a problem and if so, what the cause may be.

I think you'll find its normal mate.

its called clutch rattle, my mates 32 makes a crazy metallic whirring noise when idling in nuetral.
