n15m0
OK guys, Up for new tyres soon in 18s, 235 fronts and 255 rears. Ozzy quoted me $1150 for ST115s fitted which is an awesome price IMO. Bob Jane told me they are a discontinued line, recommended me the new range of ZE-329 for 1k fitted. I've done a google on them and chked the falken website but nothing on the new 329s. Anybody out there care to shed some light??? BJ reckon they are the new and better replacement for the crappy ZE326? Any info appreciated. MANWHOR3
Falken ziex are shit tyres. To try and imagine what they're like in the wet, imagine pooring engine oil and dishwashing liquid onto a wet concrete slab, and driving on it with a slick. The st115 are prettty good tyres. 1150 is pretty decent for 18s, which are never cheap. scathing
I've done a google on them and chked the falken website but nothing on the new 329s. Evidently you didn't "chk" very hard. Judging by their recommended fitment, they look like they're for the same purpose that the ZE326's were for. Which is, if the Australian government ever gets serious about road safety instead of piss-farting around then they'll ban retreads. At which point, these things will become the taxi tyre of choice. They may have about as much grip as a Jack Russell Terrier on wet lino, but you could drive on them until the end of time and never see the treadwear indicators. U would think there would be an improvement from the ZE326. I'd like to hear from someone who has actually used them if there are any out there. Mr Italy!
Have a search around for the Falken-451's. Apparently they've been superceeded so some tyre places are selling them off quick. I got Falken-451 235/r18 front and 255/r18 down here in canberra (where we get ripped on tyre prices) for $950. They go alright i recon. Omurru
I've got ZE326's on my commodore and i've done almost 100,000k's on them and there only about 50% worn Can't imagine the ZE329's would be any better. Wouldn't be recommending them for a performance car but for a runabout there the bomb cos you never need to replace them Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/118549-falken-ze-329/#findComment-2224408 Share on other sites
J-Boy
Falken Ziex are horrible tyres...maybe fer a normal car they are fine, but not fer the skylines fer sure....the only falkens i would ever consider using on the street fer sports driving are the FK451 and ST115...of cuz the RT215 and RT615 would be better choices.... mad082
i had falken ziex on my magna. 170hp+front wheel drive+rain=massive understeer. i have nexan n2000 tyres on my skyline and they suck in the wet too, but thats because they are a bit bald due to camber issues.
