The Molson's are a road going car,,,I Asked them,,,,Got a spare $180,000 US,,,,,.That car is 18 months old and was an ex road going thing...

Shell,,,glad to see your dirty mind is still active,,,,COOL,,,,

Actually,,,it was the bloody car,,,,everybody parked on the hill,,,picture,,, after the Chase,,,we all parked on top of the grass verge,,,,MAD. This older Guy,,,Yes Older than Me and his blond hair daughter (Factory,,,full spec Blond),,,Spunky as,,,came up and asked tons of questions about it and the difference between mine and a GTR. Turns out she thinks Dad's got it all wrong,,,,Ha Ha,,,, he's converted a standard GSR to full Spec Evo 4,,,,Nice unit indeed,,,She wanted a GTR,,,.

Next year You and Drew are coming with us,,,,Hey,,,, I had a 10 minute convo with Jim Richards in the pits Sunday Morning,,,,Cool Man....

Neil.

Duncan,,,we didn't talk about it,,,,.His answer would have been,,, thats racing....I was interested in how the cars new clutch was,,, but more about Targa and I knew it would take his mind off the 24 hour.....Targa's more my kind of racing (would love his pace notes) and it sounded like his,,,,. He's one cool dude....

Oh and my dis-like of Allan Grise (spelling) has increased....He's a Wanker

Yeah, but I hate "that's racing" - broke a gearbox the race before last when I was running third and had to watch the field drive away.

He was i a very strong position to win outright in his original car. No doubt his sponsors put up plenty of money for the race and ain't too happy now.

I'd also love to do targa one day, but not in the skyline - way too easy to destroy the car when you don't know what's around the next corner. Last time we were at the creek a guy who won his class lat year had his s1 rx7 there - I think the car cost under $5k all up.

I was on the pit crew of Nathan's 350Z.

36 hours straight with no sleep - man that was hard, but I would do it again tomorrow.

If anyone gets the opportunity - definately do it!

The car itself was actually faultless.

The only problems we had were caused by exploding Pirellis.

After the 2nd one blew we stopped useing them and bought Michelin's and Dunlops as they both had limited stocks of the size we needed.

We even used some 2nd hand Michelin's which lasted longer than the new pirellis and were 3 sec a lap quicker. (and didnt explode)

Sunday morning we broke a front hub, due to the 2 blowouts on that same wheel, it had fractured the hub unbeknowns to us until it finally let go. Luckily it happened not far from the pit entrance therefore we could change it as we had a spare.

Unfortunately whilst running 10th outright with 2 hours to go the car was forced out into the marbles going over the mountain and snotted the wall, not a lot of panel damage but enough suspension damage to put us out.

A dam shame after the effort from all the team.

Maybe next year!

Duncan,,,you and I could discuss this till we both are to old to hold a Steering wheel,,,but facts are facts buddy,,,,. Racing is about good drivers,,good prep work and Tons of LUCK.

The 2 Door Commodore was SO lucky,,,,when they changed the fuel tank,,,lift pumps and main pumps,,Yellows were out and SC were out for like 10 or so laps,,,they only really lost 3 or 4....easy to make up when your doing 2.14's/2.15's and 2.16's.

In the last hour I was so hoping the Molson would grab 2nd and got real worried when the Brabham Porsche was being fixed after Grise smashed it and seeing the same again and then re-joining the race 1 lap down from the Molson,,,In the end Palmer crunched the other side of it....Man thats Racing.

You Guy's did a great JOB,,,I was bloody Impressed,,,,....I had a tear in my eye when it was on the truck,,,I so hoped you guy's would finish in 10th,,,. I kept looking at the tree,,,hoping every lap you would tick it over....I'll help in the Pits if you need it next year,,,,

Neil.

So I guess we can't call it 100mph tape anymore,,,Can't quite remember when the 1st tyre exploded,,,it was early and then the 2nd,,,,poor car had tape on it's RHF almost 24 hours,,,,I loved MOGO....

    • For once a good news  It needed to be adjusted by that one nut and it is ok  At least something was easy But thank you very much for help. But a small issue is now(gearbox) that when the car is stationary you can hear "clinking" from gearbox so some of the bearing is 100% not that happy... It goes away once you push clutch so it is 100% gearbox. Just if you know...what that bearing could be? It sounding like "spun bearing" but it is louder.
    • Yeah, that's fine**. But the numbers you came up with are just wrong. Try it for yourself. Put in any voltage from the possible range and see what result you get. You get nonsense. ** When I say "fine", I mean, it's still shit. The very simple linear formula (slope & intercept) is shit for a sensor with a non-linear response. This is the curve, from your data above. Look at the CURVE! It's only really linear between about 30 and 90 °C. And if you used only that range to define a curve, it would be great. But you would go more and more wrong as you went to higher temps. And that is why the slope & intercept found when you use 50 and 150 as the end points is so bad halfway between those points. The real curve is a long way below the linear curve which just zips straight between the end points, like this one. You could probably use the same slope and a lower intercept, to move that straight line down, and spread the error out. But you would 5-10°C off in a lot of places. You'd need to say what temperature range you really wanted to be most right - say, 100 to 130, and plop the line closest to teh real curve in that region, which would make it quite wrong down at the lower temperatures. Let me just say that HPTuners are not being realistic in only allowing for a simple linear curve.
    • I feel I should re-iterate. The above picture is the only option available in the software and the blurb from HP Tuners I quoted earlier is the only way to add data to it and that's the description they offer as to how to figure it out. The only fields available is the blank box after (Input/ ) and the box right before = Output. Those are the only numbers that can be entered.
    • No, your formula is arse backwards. Mine is totally different to yours, and is the one I said was bang on at 50 and 150. I'll put your data into Excel (actually it already is, chart it and fit a linear fit to it, aiming to make it evenly wrong across the whole span. But not now. Other things to do first.
    • God damnit. The only option I actually have in the software is the one that is screenshotted. I am glad that I at least got it right... for those two points. Would it actually change anything if I chose/used 80C and 120C as the two points instead? My brain wants to imagine the formula put into HPtuners would be the same equation, otherwise none of this makes sense to me, unless: 1) The formula you put into VCM Scanner/HPTuners is always linear 2) The two points/input pairs are only arbitrary to choose (as the documentation implies) IF the actual scaling of the sensor is linear. then 3) If the scaling is not linear, the two points you choose matter a great deal, because the formula will draw a line between those two points only.
