Thought i would just have a rant. Was driving the g/fs Jeep Cherokee this morning and heard a big clunk (a bit like the rear of the car makes due to leaking shocks: ) and the car got a deeper sound and had **** all accel. So took to a Jeep dealer here in Wagga and the engine mounts have snapped off. SO now they need to remove the whole thing, re drill and tap the holes in the block.

So now have to catch a ****ing train to melbourne. ah well.

lol

i also hate 4wds

they piss me off

always mothers that drive them and think they are king of the road cos they have a huge 4wd

the block you sight and have to wait for them to leave before you can see anything

they should have restrictions

not to mention all the bloody petrol they drink up and spit back out of exhaust

for off road yeh thats understandable

but seeing all these bloody mothers in 4wd picking up their children from school blocking traffic trying to pack the damn thing

jus shits me tears

end of rant

Worst thing 'bout cherokees is their retained value - or lack of it. You'd be nuts to buy a new one - a lot of ppl lease them.

As for 4wd'ers. I saw a Lotus Exige on the road the other day - one of the most desirable vehicles to see in the flesh & this tosspot in a ford exploder saw this guy in his rearview winding it up & at the last minute changed lanes & cut him off. I flipped him off & he gave that "what what I'm innocent " look... Yeah right, Bud.

Didn't like it when I mentioned "Exploder" hahaha.

Performance Car owners & 4wd'ers - can't see eye to eye when they sit 5 feet off the road !

yeah, i don't like 4wd's on the road at all, but unfortuantely there is increasing numbers of them. They reduce visibility for other road users, increased chance of death or injury for pedestrians, increased damage to other vehicles in accident, use more petrol, the list goes on. Its all just an ego thing and false sense of security to think they are above everybody else on the road (and well they are in a literal sense).

You would think the Jeeps would be pretty strong coming from their army heritage. I'd love to see a Jeep in the upcoming Iraq war just lose an engine like that out the bottom coming under heavy fire! Guess they have let their guard slip in the consumer market

well this is a 94 model and when u get it in it you would think it was an 80s car. The dash and switches r so old school.

car was perfect condition 12months ago and now with some towing and city/country use, it now needs, new rear shocks, a few bits for the leafs, new CV boots, new front bushes, steering colum bush, has a crack in the ex manifold, is missing 1/2 its engine mounts and now the farken radiator is leaking (due to enigne mounts i think)... not bad eh..

also, sunroof stoped working last week, and a few weeks before that central locking.

    • Thanks mate, couldn't find in VIC, ended up ordering one from NSW, getting rwc to get new plates and registration done.
    • Before all the EFR fan boys come in, have a look at: https://www.garrettmotion.com/racing-and-performance/performance-catalog/turbo/g-series-ii-g30-825-58mm/ It also comes in a T4 1.06 divided housing. I would dare say if you want response & also decent power, this thing would chop.   AND apologies, just re-read your post, you've already bought the turbo... whatever you do, make sure you stick with divided housing and proper twin scroll manifold.
    • People have got to stop doing that. ShatGPT is not a search engine. It is a hallucination factory.   I also would recommend the 1.05. The .83 will "work" for you , in that it will be more responsive, but I think you'll find that it won't be anywhere near as good running it out to 8000rpm as the big housing will be.
    • Decided for the first time ever I would tow my car TO the track day on the same working theory as bringing tools and spares "if I have it I wont need it, but if I leave it behind i will 100% need it" all setup and ready to go out and try these A050 for the first time First session showed I needed to stiffen up the dampers a touch but still managed a few 1:21's without much effort. things were looking good. Came in a dropped the tyres down  to 26/28 as they had gotten to 35/33C from 22C cold The first lap of session two I managed to drop into 1:20's. Then in the second lap into the second session. Coming into T3 and I suddenly lost brake pedal followed by some huge rear end vibrations and scraping sounds. Got it back into the pits after session ended and found this. in the attached video, all of the wobble is in the hub its self, wheel is mint, and bearing feels tight. lKXLqpd - Imgur.mp4   Deciding it was a bent spindle I tried to find bearing/hub assembly locally but was unsuccessful so it was loaded back onto the trailer i luckily brought it on to drag it back home
