Mod's there has been an increase unrelated threads been started in the "Cefiros and other RB powered sedans" section. Many of which should of been in general maintence or forced induction/ NA areas etc.

Only way many of the regulars in the ceffy and 4 door section think we can stop this is either getting some more active mods in the section or possible changing the name of the section to "Cefiros and other 4 door related discussion" or "Cefiros and Jap Taxi talk" etc. seems too many are getting confused with the RB powered sedans part of the title (and when viewed on the forum index its towards the top of the page, hence probally the spontanous posting of alot of newbies in the section)

example are (just ones that i quickly noted on the first page....):

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=121049

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=120676 (has some comments on the issue in it...regarding section name change)

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=120185

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=120054 (Which was eventually moved and edited by a mod)

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=119291

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=111613

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=115186

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=117973 (Thread discussing the problems we have been having)

Can one of the web admins possibly help us in changing the title of the section, helping us with some more active mods or some other option?

Cheers

Ben

yikes... i'm the one who's supposed to be responsible for the cef section... I'll have a look at it guys... just haven't been active in that section for a while. Should be... I've been drivin the cef more than my R32 recently :D

actually... since both narkeh and someonestolecc both stepped down from moderating the section, there's only me to look after it.

Can I have some volunteers for 2 new mods to look after the section? (Obviously you have to be a reg in the Jap Taxi section to apply). Also I'll probably change the section name to "Cefiros Australia" and point the domain name www.cefirosaustralia.com to it soon.

sounds good funkymonkey. Though changing name to section name to "Cefiro's Australia" might be disregarding other 4 doors don't u think, or will it be assumed that they post in the same section?

sweet never knew cefirosaustralia.com was a registered domain, will have to get some stickers made up for that. :)

well when I made the section I assumed Cefiros and other RB Powered Sedan's might be clear enough to stop non 4 door owners from posting there.

just guesstimating... 80% of the guys in there own ceffies and 15% own 4 door R32's. the rest are a scattering of Laurels and Cimas. (No Gloria or cedric owners yet methinks).

Maybe renaming it to "Cefiro's and other Taxi's" as suggested or something like that might help.

dangerous_daveo has been made the new mod for this section. Also the section and its description have been altered.

Each section can have up to 3 moderators, so I will add another mod in due time.

The Cefiros and other RB powered sedans section has been great..But as a R33 4 door owner and i think i speak for other Skyline sedan people 32s and 34s we are growing in numbers. A seperate Skyline sedan section or subforum woulb be fantastic. Would this be posible. as you are thinking of changing the sections around....

Its hard to justify a seperate section for just 4 door variants of skylines... I mean a vast majority of the car is the same as a coupe. Stageas and Cefiros are completely different models, so seperate sections for them are somewhat justified.

That said, the reason I originally named the section Cefiro and RB Powered Sedans was so that 4 door Skyline owners had somewhere to post about bodykits that were unique to them and about this newfangled thing called rear doors and windows.

I guess with the new naming of the section we just have to hope that 4 door skyline owners identify themselves as owners of a Taxi :)

    • Hi all, Restoring r33 series 1 rb25det. All the heater hoses were on their way out, have replaced them and put it all back together. After testing I noticed a small leak from behind the head on the actual metal water line to the turbo when cars warm. I tried running a longer hose over it but it kept leaking...   I am about to take the (stock) manifold off again😔 to change the water line does any one have any lines they recommend? I was looking at Aeroflow Turbo Oil & Water Line Set but not sure what everyone else recommends. Car is completely stock but want to upgrade turbo eventually. it looks like ill have to disconnect a lot just to replace these lines so if there's anything else recommended to do please let me know. Thank you in advance!
    • From memory, on the R33 GTSt at least, while everyone says "It's not adjustable", I found when I changed clutches in mine, it just needed a small adjustment on the rod length. But be very wary here, as you could end up trying to push the pushrod in the master too far, or blowing out the slave.   Most likely though, if the master/slave isn't bypassing internally or leaking out, then the throw out is the wrong height compared to the fingers on the clutch, so when it moves to disengage the clutch, it isn't 100% disengaged. You can check part of this out too by jacking the car up, having the engine running, put your foot on the clutch and try to engage 1st gear. If it goes in pretty easy (Compared to the ground) and/or the wheels start turning a fair bit and it takes a bit too much brake pedal to bring them back to a stop, this is likely the issue.  I'm not sure if you can adjust the height of the forks etc in these though, it's been that long since I've touched any RB gearbox.
    • That's all good, I thought I was missing some interesting feature! Maybe @PranK can double check if that is something that is meant to be operating or not.
    • I hope that is not something that bad. From what i remember he said that only first gear is "hard" to get in and that he has couple of ideas what to try next but idk 😕  hope it is not gearbox out. I will let you know.
    • If it's not the hydraulics, it is probably gearbox back out. Usually as per @Duncan's post, or otherwise associated with not getting the throwout fork positioned correctly. All the way up to catastrophically bolting shit back together without it being aligned properly and wrecking the clutch/input shaft/flywheel/something else.
