Some already know, and for those that don't,my R32 GT-R is undergoing a restoration of sorts. More a serious upgrade,I s'pose. As such, the little beastie wont be turning a wheel in anger for a while yet,so I thought I'd off my trackday rims and tyres in the interim. They're Sparco Pythons, purchased from one of our good Canberra members who'll no doubt have all the spec's if I ask(as I've clean forgotten yesterday, let alone specifications like offset...). What I do know is:17" x 9",with the offset to fit the BNR32 with no clearance issues(my car is lower than standard, but sits just above legal road height...). Tyres are Falken RX-04V II's in 245/45/ZR17,which are a sticky trackday compatable rubber;not DOT approved,so you'd run the risk(and the wear issues)if you used them on public roads, especially if it rains! However, once heated up on the track,I dropped over 2 seconds off my Wakefield lap times, and there'd be more if I didn't drive like a nancy boy...So;cheap trackday rims that are a bit scratched and biffed up-nothing that appears structural,or I wouldn't have used them-with tread at 90%,including wheel nuts, for $1000 firm. PM me if needs be,and we'll go from there! Jayce.

A grand, You have got to be joking Jayce. There worth more than that without rubber.

Killer bargain if your in the market for wheels. Not to mention already set up with track tyres.

If I had a spare a grand you wouldn't have got this post up.

Thanx Sin'! I know they're cheap, but as they say in all those cheap a*se ads on tele':"They've got to go!" Meh:someone will get the bargain...

    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
