Hi all.

Just wondering if you can call the compliance plate manufacturer in Melb to check if the plate has been made or not.

If you can, anyone know the number?

My car was signed off last tues so I was hoping it would be ready today.

Yes you can, the place is called Niddery Nameplates, you will need the compliance number of the people who are complying the car,but otherwise should be OK.

No, but it should be on all the paperwork that they gave you.

Yeah, there should be a number that signifies the license your complier holds, the nameplate people need this and the VIN no. in order to tell you the state of your plate.

No point. I rang them and asked them but they said since I wasnt the compliance workshop they cant tell me anything even though its my car and my money.

AS i was explaining this to the lady she decided to hang up on me. Good thig they are in NSW as I have a very bad temper when it comes to things like that. Bloody BITCH!

You should have pretended to be the Compliance Company. It's stupid how they won't tell you info on the plate you are paying for.

If my car was signed off last tuesday, should I be expecting my plate around NOW?

This has been the longest wait ever (the whole process) and next time I might pay the bit extra and have the car straight away (buy locally). It is not good for my sleeping habits.

Thing you've got to realise is that the compliance system isnt setup for end users, and if I was the holder of the compliance for the plate you were getting I wouldnt want Niddrie giving you the information at all. Like V Spec says contact the person who did the compliance, but expect to wait 2 weeks at this point in time.

Plus it doesnt pay to get shitty with those people on the phone... might find yourself at the bottom of the list if not careful Compliance at the moment will be a very long drawn out process due to the number of cars being rushed through before the new REVS/SEVS.
