All,

Fantastic forum guys. Just looking into buying my first GTR (have been a 180SX owner in the past)

I have checked at lenght for a discussion re comparisons between the following:

Nismo edition R32 GTR

Standard R32 GTR

and Vspec R32 GTR

Can anyone tell me the differences between all three? I have seen a few Nismo editions advertised recently but as I am in the market and have never compared them before is it worth looking for a Vspec, or Nismo, or sticking with a well modified standard model?

Vidospace

firstly it is very unlikely that there are moer than a handfull of nismo skylines in Aus they only built a few hundred in the first place. If someone still claims it is a nismo one get the VIN and post it up in the VINS you want FASTed thread. We can check :D

Nismo skyline had n1 body bits, Group A turbos. Not sure about brakes and tyres

Vspec I and II had 17" wheels and brembos front and rear, otherwise identical to standard model.

Vspec I and II N1 were same as Vspec with n1 body bits (front bar nostrils, bonnet lip, rear boot lip . Larger turbos still bush bearing, no ABS.

None of them are worth paying extra for unless you are a collector. Assuming you are willing to change the wheels the brembos are the only advantage of a vspec, and they are a pretty average upgrade (ie for the money you save you could buy some big 6 or even 8 pot brakes instead.)

And as for n1 and group A turbos they are both bush bearing not ball bearing you are better off with something like gt-ss or similar instead. And rebuild your motor first.
