It is a factory option

But you loose it when it gets complied, unless you swap your headlights for a standard set before compliance

That is what I am doing at the moment with another Stagea owner

I think you mean lose

i was told by nismo that you can re install them after compliance and they will give me instructions how to and send the original parts back to me with the car if i so request when mine goes to them for compliance .i spose time will tell

That's what they did to mine.

I can't believe how pathetic and yellow looking, standard lights are when you've gotten used to Xenon's.

Would be peeeerrrfect if the made the high beam spots xenon as well.

my question is why do they kill the xenon lights? especially when they are coming out as standard equip on bmw's and the like?

also does anyone else have the light height adjustment wheel down to the right of the steering wheel? and if so is it hooked up/does it do anything? as mine doesn't seem to do anything at all.

BTW guys,

i saw a thread in for sale section in the forum. The guy is selling HID kits for $350!! German components assembled in china though. 1 yr warranty. Do you guys know naything about this?

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=125314

Also does our headlights uses H1 bulbs?

honestly, all aftermarket HID kits are shit. German parts assesembled in China ey. Let me tell you a story.

There is a company in Ballarat, it sells pots which are "made in australia". These pots are actually made in Malaysia, imported to australia and stickers put on them which say "made in australia"......think about it though.....the stickers ARE made in Australia....

the only way to get true HID's is to retrofit a headlight with OEM projectors. The standard headlamps if they are arnt designed to work with HID's just wont be good with HID's. I am sure S2's will be fine, but i am not sure I can say the same about S1's.

There is a really good website on my other computer, ill try and post it when i get that computer working again.

Mine has the light height adjuster and it does work - didn't think it did at first but one night tried it out again (out of boredom) and noticed they move up and down (subtle but they do move)

Would all S2 Stageas have had the Xenon's removed - would there be exceptions?

Cheers, Al

All Stagea's have to have the zenon's removed at time of compliance

The reason being they are not self leveling like the BMW's etc.

Which means the BMW lights should not shine in the eye's of on coming cars, but they still do!

The dial on the dash in the Stagea is designed for fine in cabin adjustment, for when the car has additional weight in the rear which causes the front end to rise, but unfortunitly this systems does not meet ADR's so the zenons have to be removed.

IAMSHE who is compling my car along with many other people's cars, has told me they have to cut the zenon bulbs wiring out and they are not re-usable.

So I am not sure how NIZMO do it.

Best way is to borrow a standard set for complinace and keep your zenon's, esp when they are approx $3000 new!

But you could get defected :O

cool thanks for explaining the reason behind the removal.

i was curious because i have a set of small triangular plugs floating around behind each headlight and was wondering if thats what they were for? they are 3pin plugs with the following coloured wiring

black

blue with white stripe

blue with red stripe

if anyone can tell me what they are for would be awesome?

the part number on the rear of the plug is 11016N6 if this helps?

Thanks Darrin for explaining that one. Another example of our design rules being rather unique, just like that dimmer switch for the dashboard lights that has saved so many lives

Just a shame the Xenon's had to go. I got my car from a dealer so no chance of saving them like you are doing

Cheers, Al

SO whats the easiest way at the end of the day for me to keep my OEM xenons?

I had them on my strawberry and I can't live with out them!!

DO I just tell the compliance workshop that you can take them out completely and i'll supply OEM headlights for it?

or if i was to borrow a standard set, would I have to do it behind the compliance joints back so to speak?

Cheers.

    • Dredgggggeeee time; I have recently finally started driving the car. It sat for so long that the fuel tank gave birth to rust sludge and blocked my lift pump sock and one of my walbro 460's and left grime, rust chunks and muck all through the surge tank and system. I decided to commit and pull the trigger on an oem r32 gtr fuel tank and Frenchys twin 460 / sender / surge tank hanger combo and all new larger lines and fittings etc, also boost doc heater hose kit / new heater core and a heap of other bits and shits like wideband sensor installed in the dump and Syltech iacv + lines and all wired and added to current tune. now having lightly driven it a couple times without issue, I can happily report on the hta3076 in its current tune. still no boost control switched on, 20psi gate springs, car makes 22psi at 3200rpm in 6th gear with 30-50% TPS from cruise at 100kmh. Going by the old graph, this means it should be making 300-325whp at the same numbers above. Very very responsive setup under true road driving loads. all that's left for the build is body loom + PDM, finish the remote aircon setup, install carbon fibre parts and go for full tune and 30psi. the 315 rear tyres are now performing like they're 195's, wheel spin in any gear at almost any rpm, whereas my previous setup hooked up in 3rd no issue, albeit Nt01's back then / RB25 5spd vs (new) old date r888r's Z34 6spd now, + obviously all the support upgrades I listed in the quoted post above. car sits at 1-3psi on cruise at 100kmh, expectations totally exceeded and I'm beyond stoked with all this so far. • I've also been eyeing their rear axles for my car. I purchased seat mounts from them about 7 years ago and they were hot garbage so I've been a little wary about purchasing them. With that being said, please buy them and get back to us haha.
    • Can a moderator please move this into the right category.. I've accidently put this into racing build thread 🤦🏽‍♂️
    • Being a manual, we very quickly ordered new R34 gearbox (From Nissan) and remaining parts from Kudos motorsports. Would highly recommend the team there. Ultra helpful and quick to share advice and upgrades. We are in the middle of taking the Auto out (Genuine 94,000/kms) and putting the Manual in this weekend. Part 2 of the build will include likely a Plazaman Intercooler and Plenium, Hks Exhaust with Tomei Dump (ordered).
