HKS Universal Oil Cooler - Type S

UNIVERSAL OIL COOLER KIT

There are two different types of oil cooler system. R (Replacement) TYPE is to relocate oil filter. Attachment of S (Sandwich) TYPE is inserted between engine block and oil filter.

Thermostat controls oil temperature

HKS Oil Cooler uses high efficient core. Thus it has thermostat to prevent oil viscosity friction due to over-cool (Except some vehicles). The thermostat responds quick to temperature. When oil temperature is not enough warm, it bypasses core to warm up engine quickly. If oil temperature exceeds thermostat working temperature, it flows oil to core to cool.

Thermostat closing start temperature 70?(±3?)

Thermostat closing complete temperature 80?(±3?)

* Applicable Meter fitting Oil Temp. Fitting M10xP1.0(R TYPE only), M12xP1.25 Oil Pressure Fitting PT1/8

Thermostat has relief function for safety

In case oil pressure has been unusually increased like core is damaged or oil line is stopped, oil is relieved from thermostat and it bypasses core to prevent engine failure and rupture of oil line.

Stainless mesh hose oil line for durability.

To connect surely, US Aeroquip stainless mesh hose and fitting, which are good function, durability and looking proofed by military usage, are used.

S-TYPE SPECIFIC INFORMATION

Attachment of HKS OIL COOLER S TYPE is inserted between oil filter and engine block. It is a high quality performance product. Mesh hose and fitting are Aeroquip. The attachment has sensor holes for oil temperature and pressure gauge.

* It does not relocate oil filter.

- Adopter thermo : M12xP1.25 (2 holes), PT1/8(1 hole)

UNIVERSAL OIL COOLER KIT S TYPE

Length of hose 3m

197×158.8×32, 12 rows (No.129)

- Core has been changed to popular size. (No. 012 --> No. 129)

* It is possible to install to vehicles which thread size of stock oil filter is 3/4-16UNF or M20×P=1.5. (Excluding some vehicles.)

sorry dunno to much about the specifics hope that helps.

    • Sorry to hear your HFM BM57 was faulty,  did you contact HFM I would hope they would be at least grateful for the information if there was some sort of manufacturing fault, you would hope they would be sympathetic even if your item was 2 years old if it had never been fitted. May I ask where it leaked from ?
    • Cats are called Bella, and Donna...  Like that poisonous plant And I remember your 2 monsters, I remember making a little bit of wee when you let them out... LOL I have already installed cat doors into the laundry where their kitty litter is, and the sun room, apart from the cat doors there's not going to be any permanent mounted stuff on the interior walls (interior doors are cheap and easy to replace) I will get a outdoor cat cage thingie once I finish the landscaping out back... https://catnip.com.au/ The only off limit areas are the main bedroom and the gym room....but, currently the cats are curled up in bed, in the main bedroom with the Mrs.....LOL, the off limits for the kittens to the main bedroom lasted about 5 minutes with Jackie I currently only have 1 free standing huge cat tree multiple level scratching post thingie in the lounge room, but, I will be getting another one soon now that I'm happy with the furniture layout in the back room and have a perfect spot for it
    • All of this is making it seem clear that running the Coppermix twin was definitely the way to go, especially in hindsight with how insane tariffs have gotten and the strength of the USD vs yen at the time.
    • That sounds like no chance of even importing one for road registering then Now I see why Duncan wants to check LHD rules for Targa...   I wonder how "bolt in" the AWD would be if you got one imported from the US and swapped it to an AUD one
    • Not to mention they drive like a bucket of bolts! yuck!
