Hey boys, firstly... look at the attatched pic....

dont tell me my R33 doesnt need lowering somthing shokkin....

I'm thinking of dropping in Lovell Super Lows with new Shocks all round......

does anyone have these springs in their R33? or is everyone now a days going for the Coil-overs?

I might just get a set for the rear and drop them in and see if it levels the whole car out because at the moment it looks like it leans to the front slightly.....

So if anyone could send me some pics of their R33 with some Lovell Super lows or whatever in it that would be great...

What does everyone think i should do?

Any advice appreciated...

to tell you the truth...with the money you are going to spend on aftermarket shocks and springs and all the bits and peices needed.....you might as well buy coilovers and you can always change the height and most have camber features and more....

you wont have camber adjustment from coilovers, cos skylines have double wishbone suspension instead of macpherson strut.

get sydneykid's group buy on suspension

how much is your budget to lower your car?

well this is what i was thinking.... it already has Pedders Sports Rider suspension, i was going to ditch teh springs and get some lower ones....

i can get Lovell Super Lows front adn rears for $200, i know a guy.....

so what do you think about that idea?

post-26024-1152488385.jpgi have the lows not the super lows with 17 inch rims and i reckon mine sits nice

hey thast sits at a good height....., did u see my car? it looks a little high in the rear...

just for interest sake, i wonder how low the super lows take it.....?

Just to throw something else in the mix for you to think about, Lovells are a fantastic spring maker, BUT i think you MAY find that Lovells spring rate is a touch softer then standard. ??? Good for looks, but drivabillity and handling may be affected in a "not so good" way perhaps. get your guy to check that out as lovells probably wont tell you the rates.

    • It's almost certainly a reluctor generating an "AC" waveform. No, ECUs don't generally read those - they're usually set up for PWM square wave 0-5v stuff.
    • Working through possible solutions of converting my mechanical speedo.    Anyone know what type of speedo sensor the factory r34 gtr getrag has ? what the output is ? I assume its not a VSS and more a voltage like earlier speedo sensors ? Can an ECU read it ?

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
