I just got my Aurora custom springs for my R31 and will be fitting them along with koni red adjustable shocks. Does anyone have and tips on how to adjust the shocks before I fit them?

from memory reds have to be removed to adjust? i agree with to4. put them on the softest setting and enjoy - particualry if it's a remove job to adjust them. it will not bounce unless the springs are a much higher rate than stock, and anything like the hardest damper setting is likely to remove fillings.

I am aiming for a good compromise between ride and handling. I want them stiffer than stock but I really want to avoid pulling them out heaps of times to get it right. Will the softest setting be firmer than stock?

The softest setting will be a sporty but not jarring ride. The adjustability of Konis is chiefly there to allow for stiff springs and shock longetivity.

If you want to make a guess at it, wind them up a turn or 2 from their softest setting. But don't go far - otherwise your ride quality WILL suffer.
