If they are a wearing part then they are normally as a rule replacable in some way.

I would say that any GOOD mechanic would be able to order them in, and would be more than able to press them in and out.

Call one and find out.

Not sure if this helps, but when i had my little bingle with M Gutter i replaced my left rear lower control arm, so ive got my other one sitting around, maybe you could use the ball joints out of it?

Try nissan for the parts or maybe if your damn lucky try a bearing shop and you might be in luck >_< You wouldnt want to use second hand ones...always go new if possible, especially with suspension parts.

yeah thanx shane, i am going to replace them with new ones. its jst the ones that came with thecrossmember etc are stuffed, so i was gonna replace them before i put it it the car. ive got the mechanic across from work looking for them for me, wont cost much to do at all i dont think especially when the crossmember and lower control arms arn't on the car he doesnt have to pull every thinking off.

dont know about fancy later model skyline suspension, but if its anything like mcferson strut you should be able to press them out with a hydraulic press. its a good idea to freeze the new ones for a few hours before you put them in so that they are sligtly smaller and easier to get it.

cool thanx for the tip.

ive found some from pedders. they want $80 for the pair + fitment

also i rang nissan and asked about the lower arm ball joints and they quoted me $350 each. lol and the guy said they could get one from australia and the other would have to come from japan. but they are the same item on both sides. wierd. and that price is just rediculous!

but ive come to the conclusion he might have been talking about the whole lower control arms them selves for that price, i just asked him for the ball joints them selves. anyway pedders seems like a better option to me.

ive been to repco and they reckon they dont stock items for my model in ball joints anyway.

fyi, just looking through FAST, it appears they only sell the lower control arm/balljoint as a complete unit, which is pretty much what they do for more of their cars.

So sounds about right, and yes very expensive lol :)

There is a company in Japan that offers "longer" bottom arm joints so a spacer can be used to bring the geo better if you lower the front a lot (brings the lower wishbone more parallel with the ground when lowered). I can't believe these are specially made parts, the costs would be huge, so I can only assume they have found a joint from another application that fits the splined hole in the bottom arm perfectly, and has the correct circlip groove diamater and height, and the correct stem taper and thread. On this basis it's almost certainly possible to buy the STOCK lower joint seperately, albeit under a different application? Whetehr the detective work is worth the hassle only you can say :)

    • Hi guys, just after some guidance with an R34 sunroof that has stopped working correctly. It still opens and closes perfectly fine, but it no longer tilts/vents up or down. As a result, the rear of the glass now sags a bit as it drops down slightly in order to retract into the roof, but now it can't pop upwards into a flush position. I’ve probed the pins on the back of the switch connector with a multimeter and it seems like both switches (for open/close and tilt/vent) still work correctly. Any ideas on what it could be, or where I should even start in terms of diagnosing? I'm sure someone's had this issue before but I haven't been able to find anything online relating to this specific issue, most of the issues are with the seals leaking or the motor failing entirely. Thanks in advance!
    • Do you have some data like fuel pressure? It's really hard to say if you're still fighting a fuel system issue at this point. Could be something weird like the FPCM dipping out.
    • Yeah in that case, pulling the dent out. Event a very slight dent can create a lot of work filler-wise and there is a strong chance the panel won't be the factory shape when you are done (as the dent will result in a new high point created somewhere, then everything is brought up to that new high point... but the panel shouldn't be that high if that makes sense).  So you've filled and primed the panel and it is flat, why would you go back and remove the primer and add more filler?
    • Something else I have been faffing with while the car was off the road is making the AC work. Assuming the car isn't at a thermal limit the idea of having AC while waiting in line to go on track sounds delightful. I have actually been lugging around the weight of the entire system since 2018 when the RB25NEO went in without it working at all.  The main reason was in the first few events before I got around to re-gassing it the rubber hose that runs under the manifold had the factory heat wrap/sleeve fail resulting in this: ~2 years ago I purchased a complete used R32 AC line set but when I finally went to install it the line i needed was different where the expansion section is I found a local place that was able to replace the rubber section and re-crimp. They also added some modern heat sleeve to the hose Tight fit but fingers crossed this is the last physical piece of the puzzle needed
    • the top black section is bonded to the silver section with some form of rubber. I assume to isolated NVH from the box
