Some people will believe anything that they're told, so it never hurts to have "the other side of the story" thrown into the mix to give people something to think about.

Mastadd why would I bag the R31 club?

How/when did I do any bagging?

I should also state that nobody ever approached any of "the powers that be" from the R31 club in regards to financial funding for this event.

There's so much more I could say in relation to this, but there's not much point if the person spreading rumours won't step up.

Ill step up, didnt you say:

"haven't taken the time to visit the R31 forum, because I know that all that awaits within is more of this sort of rubbish.

...People making up stories to try and make other people look bad, or just simply trying to stir the pot because they have nothing better to do with their time."

the only person here spreading rumours appeares to be you, didnt you also say that you havent been active in the 31 club for some time? how could you posibly have the other side of the story? its this kind of BS that your telling everyone thats detrimental to an event of this size! we only want to see this event do well and for everyone to have a good time, the amount of time and $$$ That goes into planing and running an event this size is unreal i have nothing but respect for those with the skillz to orgonise it. how bout you step up and say/do productive for this event?

Yes, I did say that I hadn't been to the R31 forum for some time.

I'm not spreading any rumours, I have nothing to lose and nothing to gain by fabricating stories.

I didn't say anything about not being active within the club for some time, that is your interpretation.

I said I hadn't bothered to visit the forum for a while.

The 2 don't go hand in hand.

I fail to see how anything I say can be detrimental to the event in question.

I have no desire to attempt to sabotage cazz's gazillion hours of slog over organising this event, it just gets a bit old when time and time again, misleading stories are created for no apparent reason.

As for stepping up and saying/doing something productive for this event, I (and several others) stepped up prior to this event being organised, back when it was just an idea, and made sure it was known that we would offer support, and help with event promotion when and if something was organised.

Unfortunately there were no details forwarded to myself or any of the other people who said they would help with promotion, and if I'd taken it upon myself to intervene, I would have been doing the wrong thing.

Due to event details having changed several times with minimal notice, any promotion details taken directly from the original information source would have been misleading.

I'm aware of how much work needs to go into organising any event, and I know that organising something of this calibre is a massive headache, which is why many of us were willing to put our hands up to help, so don't pretend that you have any idea, when you obviously don't.

adam (a.k.a. Spartacus) has just made the most intelligent, articulate, and well informed post in this thread.

you come here and tell me that i have no clue!

i stand by the statement that you indeed have no clue, and as i said the only person to come here and talk untruths is you and yet now u feel you can side step a response that articulates your fabrication of untruths!

i may only have a little bit of a clue but thats all that is reqired to give you the facts to your storys, which i supplyed in my orig post.

Adam may very well be right, im glad that you didnt throw your self in with your inteligent conversation remark.

No more fule from me to keep your fires going.

End Rant.

    • The rain is the best time to push to the edge of the grip limit. Water lubrication reduces the consumption of rubber without reducing the fun. I take pleasure in driving around the outside of numpties in Audis, WRXs, BRZs, etc, because they get all worried in the wet. They warm up faster than the engine oil does.
    • When they're dead cold, and in the wet, they're not very fun. RE003 are alright, they do harden very quickly and turn into literally $50 Pace tyres.
    • Yeah, I thought that Reedy's video was quite good because he compared old and new (as in, well used and quite new) AD09s, with what is generally considered to be the fast Yokohama in this category (ie, sporty road/track tyres) and a tyre that people might be able to use to extend the comparo out into the space of more expensive European tyres, being the Cup 2. No-one would ever agree that the Cup 2 is a poor tyre - many would suggest that it is close to the very top of the category. And, for them all to come out so close to each other, and for the cheaper tyre in the test to do so well against the others, in some cases being even faster, shows that (good, non-linglong) tyres are reaching a plateau in terms of how good they can get, and they're all sitting on that same plateau. Anyway, on the AD08R, AD09, RS4 that I've had on the car in recent years, I've never had a problem in the cold and wet. SA gets down to 0-10°C in winter. Not so often, but it was only 4°C when I got in the car this morning. Once the tyres are warm (ie, after about 2km), you can start to lay into them. I've never aquaplaned or suffered serious off-corner understeer or anything like that in the wet, that I would not have expected to happen with a more normal tyre. I had some RE003s, and they were shit in the dry, shit in the wet, shit everywhere. I would rate the RS4 and AD0x as being more trustworthy in the wet, once the rubber is warm. Bridgestone should be ashamed of the RE003.
    • This is why I gave the disclaimer about how I drive in the wet which I feel is pretty important. I have heard people think RS4's are horrible in the rain, but I have this feeling they must be driving (or attempting to drive) anywhere close to the grip limit. I legitimately drive at the speed limit/below speed the limit 100% of the time in the rain. More than happy to just commute along at 50kmh behind a train of cars in 5th gear etc. I do agree with you with regards to the temp and the 'quality' of the tyre Dose. Most UHP tyres aren't even up to temperature on the road anyway, even when going mad initial D canyon carving. It would be interesting to see a not-up-to-temp UHP tyre compared against a mere... normal...HP tyre at these temperatures. I don't think you're (or me in this case) is actually picking up grip with an RS4/AD09 on the road relative to something like a RE003 because the RS4/AD09 is not up to temp and the RE003 is closer to it's optimal operating window.
    • Either the bearing has been installed backwards OR the gearbox input shaft bearing is loosey goosey.   When in doubt, just put in a Samsonas in.
