a GT2876 is really not a good combo. you have a 500hp compressor bolted to a relatively tiny turbine (something in the order of a 53mm). the garrett version usually isn't a T3 footprint. this turbo will absolutely be choked by the relatively tiny turbine.

A GT3071 with a proper 60mm turbine shouldn't be laggy at all with good tuning and should put out around 450hp (flywheel) depending on the compressor trim.

If this is a bitza turbo in a nissan housing then it is harder to guess at the results.

A GCG hi-flow more or less uses a 450hp compressor wheel but a smaller turbine wheel and these obviously work quite well as a cheap bolt on (bear in mind the turbine can choke this and its actual output might be a bit lower)

A HKS GT-RS is a GT2871 with a HKS T3 turbine housing. 53mm turbine, 71mm compressor (52 trim)

A HKS 2835ProS 56mm turbine, 71mm compressor (56 trim).

What are you aiming for with your car and what engine management do you have?

im lookin for good streetable power. prob 250awkw is max. doesnt need to break records just have a nice spread across the rev range. just not to laggy. my mates one is prob laggy cos of the stock manifold. but usually autos spool quicker than manuals, so i took a guess it would be laggier on mine. i did some calcs and the 2876 will spool up nice, but i was worried it would be a bit restricted at the top.

as for management it will be full programable (haltech, microtech, wolf, etc) just havent settled on a brand.

have u got a compressor and turbine map for the gcg or hks turbos so i can do some basic calcs??

the GT2876 really is pig.

if you want 250rwkw then the GCG Hi-Flow, GT3071 (with a 0.82 garrett housing), or HKS GT-RS put you right into the zone as they are all around the 420-450hp compressor mark.

The GCG unit is the easiest option as it bolts directly back onto the stock gear, the HKS GT-RS comes in kit form and bolts back into the stock location.

Any other option will require a new dump, lines and probably intake mods.

Once you have decent engine management PowerFC, ViPEC or other you will be able to spool any of these turbos with no issue.

If you are happy with a bush bearing then Hypergear is making some cheap bolt ons too.

    • Thanks both. All good advice. Reminds me of drilling through stone wall for drainage pipe 😬 I'll let you know how I get on if I still have use of my hands afterwards 😅
    • Finally got shipping number for the intake and throttle body, shipped by UPS, so "should" be in my hands sometime next week, fingers fracking crossed

    • Each to their own I guess  Me, I put just as much time into cleaning inside of the cars as I do on the outside As for getting wet, it is really no different than steam cleaning the carpets at home, apart from the cars carpet dries alot faster than the house, again, I only do it in the hotter months and leave the car opened up for a few hours As I only do it yearly, it is just before I do the diff and gearbox service, so I clean the carpets, then it's up on stands, wheels off, service, clean the undercarriage,  grease the bushings and do a nut and bolt check on everything  Disclaimer: I typically had all the time in the world to kill when I was working 🤣, so spending a full day or 2 cleaning, serving and "looking at stuff" was,  easily achievable, and a fun mental therapy day As for time to kill, I retired last Wednesday, so apart from my physical training, my days are filled with lots of random jobs around the house and garden...."Idle hands are the Devils something something" I am also buying a new house sooner rather than later, I'm actually looking at a potential property tomorrow, I'm looking forward to getting a car hoist as I'm starting to get to old to crawl around under a car, I can only imagine all the undercarriage cleaning and looking at stuff when that gets set up
    • Yeah, I'm not interested in wetting the carpets, and I don't care about brown dirt/dust that lives deep in the pile or underneath. It's not like I crawl around on them in my birthday suit or eat dropped food off them (because there is never any open food in my car). The seats are alcantara (cheap Chinese imitation alcantara, to be sure!) with barely 1" of foam pad behind the surface. That's not getting wet either. Any car that I would be happy to get the interior wet, I would not care to put the effort into.
