Just thought we could all spend some quality family time together and share on the meaning behind our user names.

As the Care Bears say, "Sharing is Caring"

So I'll start the ball rolling...

... it would seem fairly obvious - we have three kids.

What became the 'almost' sole justification for buying the Stagea was because we could fit 3 baby seats across the back seat. (Plus it goes hard)

I was toying with two other user names: Mellow Yellow or Righteous Rocker, but they seemed a bit pretentious.

P.S. You can actually see a (bad) reflection of the 1inthefront in my avatar.

I will add a piccy here as soon as the system stops freezing each time I try to add an attachment.

My username?

When I created it years ago (I can't even remember how long ago it was, maybe 9-10yrs?), it was around the time I'd bought turntables and a mixer, and started teaching myself to DJ. One of the first batch of records I bought had a song called "Black Gold of the Sun" by NuYorican Soul. I liked the song a lot (still do), and combined the Gold with Godzilla, and my username was derived from that.

EDIT: forgot to mention that I have darkish skin (not quite "black" but darker than olive), which is what the song was actually referring to, and that's why I like the song so much.

Hope that makes sense... :whistling:

haha

well, my name is alex and my last name starts with cim

I didnt like my nickname from high school of chimpy so yeh, i wasnt too original.

btw, i got that nick name coz of the way you pronounce my last name, cim is read "chim" like italian...im romanian.

Hey Brad, what were your other 2 or 3 past lifes.

LOL

Well mine is "Stasis" it means it will sit there and do nothing until something passes buy at it bite. I took tis name up after playing a submarine warfare games on the comp during the mid 90s. Its a name for a type of torpedo that you can lay ambush on.

Thus it apllies to the 260rs for unwary people who thinks that its a slow wagon :whistling:

Well mine stems from my old skool days of playing D&D with mates, yes I was once a D&D player. So I played in a fairly large group and we always chose the same type of character to play, I was always the thief, and since I love a type of music called Ska (pronounced scar), I thought it would suit.

Since then trying to choose a good alias to use for online gaming and forums has not been hard, as Ska is not too well used so that is my generic username/alias for neraly everything I do online.

And yes I still play rolepaying games, but have advanced to playing Vampire: The Masquerade, and I am definatly not the thief anymore :)

Tangles, from the 12th Man by Billy Birmingham - "Its like a babys arm holding an apple!!!" commentator exclaiming when max walker was streaking across the MCG.

Also MajorTangles is an online game name I use for Battlefield2....... fairly apt.

:)

    • Has equal chance of cleaning an AFM and f**king an AFM. I think you can work out what happened. When the Hitachi ECU sees the AFM die and goes into the associated limp mode, then it will start and run just fine, because it ignores the AFM and just runs on idle maps that will do what it needs to get it going. But there is no proper load signal, so that's about all it can do. My suggestion? If you don't want to go full aftermaket ECU, then get some R35 GTR AFM cards and some housings to put them in, in the stock location, and Nistune the ECU. Better to do a good upgrade than just replace shitty 40 year old tech with the same 40 year old tech.
    • So my car was recently having trouble starting on initial crank, I would need to feather the gas for it to start up but besides that it would start and run fine. So I clicked the idle air control valve (with throttle body cleaner) and cleaned the MAF sensors (with MAF cleaner). The start up issue was fixed and now the car turns over without the assist of the throttle, but the car is in limp mode and wont rev past 2.5k RPM. From what I understand the IACV would not put the car in limp mode, so I am to believe it is the MAF sensors, but it was running fine before and now I cant get it out of limp mode. I cleaned the MAF made sure the o rings were seated properly. Made sure the cables were plugged in properly, the cables also both read the same voltage. Does anybody know why this is or what could be causing this or how to get it out of limp mode?
    • Ooo I might actually come and bring the kids, however will leave the shit box home and take the daily
    • Thanks. Yeah I realised that there's no way I'd be able to cover the holes with the filler, it would just fall through. Thanks again @GTSBoy!
    • That was the reason I asked. If you were going to be fully bodge spec, then that type of filler is the extreme bodge way to fill a large gap. But seeing as you're going to use glass sheet, I would only use that fibre reinforced filler if there are places that need a "bit more" after you've finished laying in the sheet. Which, ideally, you wouldn't. You might use a blob of it underneath the sheet, if you need to provide some support from under to keep the level of your sheet repair up as high as it needs to be, to minimise the amount of filler you need on top. Even though you're going bodge spec here, using glass instead of metal, the same rules apply wrt not having half inch deep filler on the top of the repair. Thick filler always ends up shitting the bed earlier than thin filler.
