Ok boys my R33 GTR is ready for its conversion. its going from a ugly whore to a victoria secrets model (engine wise). but in order to do that i need answering to a few questions. I have a power FC, a Blitz exhaust (100mm piping with 115mm tip catback though) but in my country there is no ned for cats cuz no one realy cares. the whole f**king country is green. the rest of the pipe i will have fabricated locally. further list of mods. HKS T04Z turbocharger, TIG welded custom header with 50mm external wastegate, steel braided hoses allround (fron the fuelsystem to the oil drain/supply lines. HKS SS racegate 50mm with custom screamer. bosch 044 (thanks for the post on the DIY forum for the tutorial) SARD 700cc injectors. Nismo twin plate clutch. Wiseco 87m forged pistons, pauter ronds (stock replica) , all new nismo bearings, APEXI oilcooler kit and relocartor. Blitz (HUGE) intercooler with custom piping. twin HKS blow off valves. Apexi AVCR boost controler.

Ok boys here come the questions:

1. what type of AFM should i use as i am going out of my mind. should it be twin Z32 cuz i have acces to them or should i searh for a Q45 one. and does someone know how to setup the PFC for bigger AFM's

2. to what extent will my cranckshaft hold up ( horsepower figures)

3. what camshafts should i use. Are there any head jobs such as porting etc. do any changes need to be made to my valvetraing (new lifters, valvesprings that sort of shit)

4. are 2 blow offs better than one a i heard (and read) that the HKS SSQV doesnt leak at all.

5. will the PFC support these mods (or should i be thinkin of sellin this one for a more advanced unit SA motec or wolf.

6. any ideas on what type of headgasket and thickness i should use

i am aiming at 600 HP at all fours in your terms that would be about 450awkW. any feedback will be helpfull as not many people srive GTR's (nor skylines) in my country. there is only one but that dude paid to have it tuned in japan. as i dont have the cash nor the resources to do so ill try and do it my self. i am aiming at a menacing RNN14 who is running 550HP. so you guys are my last resort. and keep in mind my country has no fckin dyno.

1) Z32 or even twin Nismo AFM's.

2) Fine is prepped correctly

3) I would contact your builder regarding porting and the condition of the head. Cams, most are using Poncams with good results. Cam gear aswell

4) Use the stock GTR BOV's, you will be forever thankful

5) Yes, quite easily.

6) No idea, question 4

As for no dyno, your gonna be up the creek for tuning... Suggest moving to another country

well i am from a tiny country named suriname. we are in south amrica right above brazil. but why would i stick with the stock BOV, why not go aftermarket. are the motec units self tuning r do they ned to be tuned on a dyno with very experienced tuners. and no i cant move outta my country cuz i like it here. we have tropical weather all year, dont get storms no natural disasters ( exept the politics here).

Why must people always want to go aftermarket? Nissan have some good gear.

Just because your paying money for something, doesnt mean its useful

Following examples

600+rwkw GTR - stock GTR BOVs

550+rwkw GTR - stock GTR BOVs

550+rwkw Supra - stock GTR BOVs

If its good enough for them, its good enough for you

ok i got my head back from california today. they put the Tomei poncams in with IN and Ex 260 duration and a 9.5mm lift. the head was ported and polished. the whole valvetrain was renewed, new lifters, valvesprings. the seats were regrinded titanium ratainers, new valves (manley Gen B). the engine will be done tomorrow, today they were souble checkking clearances and if every bolt os torqued down properly. And R31 nismoid my cranckshaft was prepped by the lead mechanic at my job ( i work for the alcoa and i am a mechanical engineer myself, so i have acces to a variety of machinery to prep a engine including a very cool 5 axis CNC bench) it was balanced recoated. but i left that job to my crew. they are equally exited about this project as i am, so they are prepping my engine to their best ability. tomorrow thell assemble my engine completly incuding all my wiring and i hope that the day after tomorrow we will be able o hang the engine. as for the tuning of the pfc my nephew who is a certified APEXi tuner will be on vacation drom the states next week so hell be tuning my PFC for his vacation project. the moment the engine goes in well begin to manufacture the exhaust and the custom intercooler piping. i have bought a HKS drag gasket set with a 1.6mm headgasket. any idea on what boost i should be running with my T04Z to achive 450AWkW. and any idea on what figures i might be clockin (400m time est.) and are th twin Z32 AFM enough to support that power. oh yea one more important question can i drive my car on a daily basis?? fuel economy is no problem (one of the perks of the job FREE FUEL for transport to the job)

I am working for alcoa, athe alumina company. Think they are active in australia too, i aj working for a sub company of them SURALCO (suriname aluminium company). there will be pics after the build is finished, be putting them on my website wich is currently under construction. the team of guys that work on my car only have the time to do so when we are not repairing excavators, haulpacks mining draglines and all sort of heavy equipment and over here we sometimes work for nearly 24 straight hours. Acording to the company every second that one of there machines is out of order they lose money ( i dont blame them). the fuel over here is shitty 89ron, but the suralco brings the fuel for their employees independantly and that is shell optimax (think its about 98RON correct me if i am wrong). when i bought my car i got it with a full tank of shitty gas, it wasnt unil a coworker of mine told me to drain the fuel out of the system and put in the optimax that i noticed the difference, the car drove like a dream. and o yea the beast engine is prepped and ready to go into the bay. tomorrow will bge double cheking everything before dropping it in and getting to work directly on the new piping.

Must be a big facility....those draglines are absolutely massive. They are like a 5 story building on tracks about as big as a B double combo, with a massive boom with wires and pulleys and a big arse bucket on the end. Saw half a dozen of em at Moura up north at the coal mines, everything there is dirty and big!

Some pictures would be real sweet when you get the time and even some of the factory would be cool too mate. Cheers.

    • (it is a brand new ported mellings pump) I suspect the lack of pressure is due to the leak. It was *not* that low in other logs of oil pressure in the past. It wasn't that hot either, but not far off.
    • Would a Mellings oil pump be a viable option  From my time with a LS, and talking to tuners and LS specialists, the "weak" OEM oil pump is one of the first things they recommend to swap out if I was going to give the engine any high RPM I opted for a Mellings high volume, with the high pressure springs and I never had a issue with it Cost wise they are not expensive in the scheme of things
    • Just bought a 2002 Stagea 250tRS VR-X Four AERO VQ25DET and spent the last two weekends cleaning and detailing it.. still have to do the wheels and the engine bay but the rest of it came up nice. Imported 2011 to S.A. and I'm the third owner since it was imported. I met the guy who brought it over, he went to Japan and picked out the car, bought it and ordered the wheels. He also gave me a list of stuff he did to the car with receipts. Coil overs (I have the original springs), 3" exhaust from the dump pipe back no cat, Custom dump pipe,(I have the original exhaust), Plenum spacer, 18" custom Work XSA wheels (need restoring, I've made a start..), Shift kit put through the 5 speed tiptronic auto, TV and menus/screens changed to english, Australian DTV tuner installed in rear. I've just had four new discs and new pads as well as all the fluids including the brake fluid replaced. I have all the receipts for the last 15 years and the import papers in a nice folder. Car looks great, goes like hell but fuel economy is not a thing lol.. pics next..
    • I ended up in this rut again lol, and used a shit ton of filler. One thing I can't understand is, even after using a big long block and going in long X pattern strokes, I always end up at bare metal again with no filler, and my repair started at one end of the door and now I've chased my tail to almost the other end of the door. I was thinking of hitting the panel with a hammer where it might be a high spot and making everything low then filling it, I did this on a small section on my other door by mistake and I think I fixed it lol. Is this a bad idea? The other thing is with guidecoat, whether it's the powder or spray, after I sand all the guide coat off, it doesn't reveal anything for me in terms of high spots and low spots and makes it especially hard when it's bare metal (at least in powdered form), am I doing something wrong here, or likely a high spot I keep going over and creating valleys? Lastly, stupid question but, is it possible that after sanding if I only sand over the filler area where I know to be a dent that it's impossible for me to dig into that dent? Unless there are other problems which I missed.
