On another note, I ordered a GTR First Aid Kit from Matt Porritt before I knew he had anything to do with this AVC-R BULLSH1T... Had I known, I wouldn't have sent him one CENT of my money.

But alas, I didn't know, and I ordered a "GTR First Aid Kit", from their surplus that they had left from the last order they ran. So they had it in stock. YES, THEY HAD IT IN STOCK.

I ordered AND PAID for it it 3 weeks ago... A week went by... NOTHING. TWO weeks went by, NOTHING.... So I sent Matt an email asking what happened to it. Sure enough, they hadn't sent it yet. He promised me that it would be sent later on that week with other things that needed to be sent. ****ed if I know why they can't send things everyday. Anyway, I said fine, and continued to wait.

ANOTHER BLOODY WEEK GOES BY, and still no First Aid Kit. So I sent Matt another email enquiring about it... Apparently if they don't like someone, they'll take your money and refuse to send you the goods.

this whole concept of group buys seems flawed to me, if you want something go buy it yourself, dont trust your money to anyone else, especially someone you dont know, havent met, or will never meet (and by the looks of it, someone who couldnt organise a root in a brothel).

very true but there are ppl like BY BY and Boostmeister who i'd trust without meeting them. i guess ask around to see if the organisor is reliable is a safe bet.

George, I know him & I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him......j/k. BY BY has been a great help to me on many an occasion.

In all seriousness, good point George, you should really get a feel for the person organising it before u send money. PM people & ask if they trust them.......

The simple fact that I have better things to do with my time that to put up with your 'demands'

I quote your reply to me offering you a refund

I want the GTR First Aid Kit, not a refund. But if I don't see the First Aid Kit soon, I shall have no other choice but to request one.

I have NEVER refused to send you anything, I gave you a refund as YOU requested in your next email 17 mins later.

Your petty problems with Razor have no place here interfering in a thread about AVCRs of which you have no financial concern.

You seem awfully ready to hide behind a keyboard, but form all accounts, seem to be lacking the balls to put your money where your mouth is.

I also know that a definate resolve was offered by SadisticRage to sort this, in which 1 person participating in this post has taken the oppertunity to do, after prompted to do so by myself.

It also seems a little odd that some of those who have been offered a refund don't want it right now. they'd prefer to wait for the resolve, though as you may not know, those involved may see things differently to guys like yourself Andrew that think they are on a moral crusade.

My number is +64 21 236 4739 if you wish to actually discuss this instead of throwing your 2c (if its worth that) in all the time.

Putting up with customer's "demands" is your ****ing job. What's so inordinate about a customer demanding the goods he paid for 3 weeks prior? :talk2hand:

If you think that is too much to ask, I think you should find another line of work, such as garbage disposal. Rotten cat food won't demand much of you at all.

HAHAHAHA... You don't know me at all. I am MORE than willing to take this up in person if you feel the need. Calling me a keyboard warrior :type: is one of the funniest things I've ever heard.

In any case, what the hell are you going on about me not putting my money where my mouth is? You expect me to purchase an AVC-R off you? What the ****? Are you crazy? HAHAHAHAHA...

Just stop it, before you make yourself seem like even more of a chump.

I will purchase my First Aid Kit directly from Ray (Sadistic Rage) thank you very much. He seems like a decent and honest bloke, not blaming others for their own failures... I hear he's terminated his business ties with you because of your amatureish demeanour...

"As I indicated in my earlier email, my relationship with Matt as a supplier will be terminated. I simply cannot afford to outlay tens of thousands of dollars importing parts in order to see them sold and distributed in such an amateurish way." :tomato:

Nice work. If you want to talk to me, you can call me. I'm not ringing New Zealand to talk to a loser. :looney: PM me for my number.

Andrew. :uh-huh:

George and Cereal_Jacques thats for the support.

Im not going to delve into this hot topic but there are several like Boostmeister and Myself who are being affected by the whole "Group buys are dodgy" theory.

PS: My group buy is NOT requested money up front, all products will be paid for ONLY when customers have them and are happy

yap, after being a phone call away from this and speaking to a lawyer we got our refunds back this week.

We had 4 PowerFC's @ $1.6K and 1 AVCR @ $800.

I've learnt a lesson.

Got my refund back today, less bank fees at long last.

This has left a sour taste in my mouth.

There is no way that these guys are professional at all. It appeared to be one lie after another. Or at least one bungle after another. Either way, this could have been handled in a much a lot better.

    • Hi, is the HKS  Tower Bar still available ? negotiable ? 🤔
    • From there, it is really just test and assemble. Plug the adapter cables from the unit into the back of the screen, then the other side to the car harness. Don't forget all the other plugs too! Run the cables behind the unit and screw it back into place (4 screws) and you should now have 3 cables to run from the top screen to the android unit. I ran them along the DS of the other AV units in the gap between their backets and the console, and used some corrugated tubing on the sharp edges of the bracket so the wires were safe. Plug the centre console and lower screen in temporarily and turn the car to ACC, the AV should fire up as normal. Hold the back button for 3 sec and Android should appear on the top screen. You need to set the input to Aux for audio (more on that later). I put the unit under the AC duct in the centre console, with the wifi antenna on top of the AC duct near the shifter, the bluetooth antenna on the AC duct under the centre console The GPS unit on top of the DS to AC duct; they all seem to work OK there are are out of the way. Neat cable routing is a pain. For the drive recorder I mounted it near the rear view mirror and run the cable in the headlining, across the a pillar and then down the inside of the a pillar seal to the DS lower dash. From there it goes across and to one USB input for the unit. The second USB input is attached to the ECUtec OBD dongle and the 3rd goes to the USB bulkhead connected I added in the centre console. This is how the centre console looks "tidied" up Note I didn't install the provided speaker, didn't use the 2.5mm IPod in line or the piggyback loom for the Ipod or change any DIP switches; they seem to only be required if you need to use the Ipod input rather than the AUX input. That's it, install done, I'll follow up with a separate post on how the unit works, but in summary it retains all factory functions and inputs (so I still use my phone to the car for calls), reverse still works like factory etc.
    • Place the new daughterboard in the case and mount it using the 3 small black rivets provided, and reconnect the 3 factory ribbon cables to the new board Then, use the 3 piggyback cables from the daughterboard into the factory board on top (there are stand offs in the case to keep them apart. and remember to reconnect the antenna and rear cover fan wires. 1 screw to hold the motherboard in place. Before closing the case, make a hole in the sticker covering a hole in the case and run the cable for the android unit into the plug there. The video forgot this step, so did I, so will you probably. Then redo the 4 screws on back, 2 each top and bottom, 3 each side and put the 2 brackets back on.....all ready to go and not that tricky really.
    • Onto the android unit. You need to remove the top screen because there is a daughterboard to put inside the case. Each side vent pops out from clips; start at the bottom and carefully remove upwards (use a trim remover tool to avoid breaking anything). Then the lower screen and controls come out, 4 screws, a couple of clips (including 3 flimsy ones at the top) and 3 plugs on the rear. Then the upper screen, 4 screws and a bunch of plugs and she is out. From there, remove the mounting brackets (2 screws each), 4 screws on the rear, 2 screws top and bottom and 3 screws holding in the small plates on each side. When you remove the back cover (tight fit), watch out for the power cable for the fan, I removed it so I could put the back aside. The mainboard is held in by 1 screw in the middle, 1 aerial at the top and 3 ribbon cables. If you've ever done any laptop stuff the ribbon cables are OK to work with, just pop up the retainer and they slide out. If you are not familiar just grab a 12 year old from an iphone factory, they will know how it works The case should now look like this:
    • Switching the console was tricky. First there were 6 screws to remove, and also the little adapter loom and its screws had to come out. Also don't forget to remove the 2 screws holding the central locking receiver. Then there are 4 clips on either side....these were very tight in this case and needed careful persuading with a long flat screw driver....some force required but not enough to break them...this was probably the fiddliest part of the whole job. In my case I needed both the wiring loom and the central locking receiver module to swap across to the new one. That was it for the console, so "assembly is the reverse of disassembly"
