going by Jessica's written response, there's stuff all you can do at the moment other than sit on your hands.

Maybe after December you could give them another little push if nothing has eventuated by then and use the letter as a reminder

Pete - I agree there is a fair bit of "hot air" puffed around, its been posted many times on here, ns.com etc. about online petitions and "ive signed it" - yet how many got off their Lazy Asses and went to the Pt Adelaide Complex rally back in January? probably about 5-10% if we were lucky I reckon. There were the usual excuses posted the next day, "i forgot, it was too hot - i was still hungover".

When I was down there, I could almost see so many old-school guys who wouldn't generally go near a computer, and plenty of old school cars, but very few imports.

Your right - it's a sad state.

I just hoped that 1 more (me) harassing AIR track manager would do something in the mean time if the Pt Adelaide complex (which I would much prefer) doesnt get up and running

tell me about the heat......I was there melting

funny what you say about all the true old rev heads there on the day....it was a case of spot the teenager all day

Thats pretty much the outcome we got everytime we 'nudged' them along.

Then you get threads like this pop up and everyone thinks no one is doing anything. Fact of the matter is there are parties trying to get things moving, but alot of the times it is a waiting game. Annoys me too. But you're never going to see at thread titled "We tried to re-open AIR but wasn't successful ... here is why" ... so people wrongfully assume no one is doing anything.

After working in the development planning industry for nearly 10 years, I can tell you know that petitions don't go far at all most of the time.

i have heard that it will open but only for top-door slammers and superstreets, thats it, nothing else, which sucks, might have to put the sil80 in super street as well as drifting, lol

does anyone have an official word on whats happening with the new motorsport complex that was being planned by private investors??? they still waiting on gov. funding?

I have heard the "businessmen" have the money they are just trying to get the government to give them a place where they can build it..But in saying that have also heard that AIR kick up a stink and said why build a facility when we have AIR..

It has been going on for too long and I will give it till Decemeber and if AIR isnt reopened and a new calender for 2009 is not put on the AIR webpage then I will be hounding AMC everyday asking why!! I should of asked in the email why it has taken so long and what actual contruction work is going on there.

The petition can still work but you need thousands of signatures and that takes a little while to get. I have put this on every car forum I know of..I have been emailing business and drag racers in SA and Australia..but if noone passed the email or gets there friends to sign..... :D

I dont think they will only open to those classes, You should see the money WSID makes every wednesday night for the local guys to take they cars off the street.

Ruby - I dont think nothing has been getting done..I just wanted to wake this subject up..On all of the car forums I have been searching all of the threads like this havent had any movement in them for 6 months or more. I want to help and I like to ask questions.

Jess,

The reasons I was given for the "recent" delays is that due to a wetter than usual winter (well of late anyway) the outer of the track became so soft that they couldnt get the heavy re-surfacing machinery near the track. Due to this, Paul said they needed to wait for ~4 weeks without rain to dry the outer out so they can get the machinery back in there. We had basically had that for the last month, so I would expect the re-surfacing equipment to be back there now.

There were also unofficial reports that the machinery had hit a "sink hole" around the back end of the track, causing the machinery to sink into the track, thus meaning MORE expensive repairs to get the track back to level, let alone just the resurfacing...

I just hope that it WILL be up and running come december :)

Hi sean,

Thank you for your interest in A.I.R.

The 13th of Dec is somthing i have heard for a while and i am sorry to say it is not true. As you probably aware we are half way in resurfacing our race track we are hoping to finish it as soon as we can and get the ball rolling. We are hoping to hold street meets early next year as soon as we set a date im sure you will here about it.

Kind Regards

Paul

So no action this side of christmas - although my mate is a senior manager at Boral so I'll see when they are finishing the track off. (yes there were troubles with the machinery sinking into the track)

    • Dear folks My family members have 4 different cars : Triton 2015 and Corolla 2011 and Mazda3 2012 and Hyundai Elantra 2014 Looking to buy engine oil funnel spill free What I found are are below  https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0BBTTJNKX?ref=ppx_pt2_mob_b_prod_image&th=1 https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/145553221359?srsltid=AfmBOoqYBU6Ptw0LU_bAp_k67U3qkF97HHvePkA7iHZw8vUmiwoIRaRr https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09X23TCS5?th=1 Is there a funnel with attachment that fits most cars ? Don't mind to spend for a decent quality  Thx
    • Stock ECU (or more accurately stock tune) absolutely refuses to go over 10psi and behaves like you have seen. The Nistune is the same if it is the stock tune. If the Nistune chip has been tuned, the resulting tune could be literally anything for any combination of parts. The Nistune just makes the stock ECU Tunable.
    • So stock ECU does not like anything above 10 psi?  That Nistune one is just for "try" if it will be any different, I know it need to be tune for that. I know but YOU may know about these problem but i/we dont. They few little Skylines here let alone people who know anything about tham so that is why iam asking here
    • So now we have a radiator with no attachments whatsoever. It lifts up with a particularly tight spot between the drivers side air box mount and the lower radiator outlet, but if you've got this far you will sort that too. This is the lower mounts with the rad out so you can see where the rubber bushes go, it is a straight shot upwards Done! Assembly is the reverse of disassembly, with blood less likely to be shed.
    • Right, onto the second last trick. The Air Con condenser is mounted to the front of the radiator and stays in the car when the radiator is removed. There are 2x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the condenser to the radiator, remove those The bottom of the condenser is attached to the radiator with clips. You need to lift the condenser out of those clips and clear (up, then forward). f**ked if  could work out how to do that last bit with the front bumper on. I hope you can, and you share the trick.  Bumper removal probably deserves its own thread one day once I've recovered the will to live, but basically you need to remove the wheels, front inner guard liners (clips and 10mm headed bolts), the self tapper between the guard and the bumper at the rearmost point of the bumper (same as an R32 that bit), any remaining clips at the top/front of the grill, an absolute bastard design with a plate that holds the top of the bumper above the headlight each side (only 1 bolt which is tricky to get to, but the plate catches 2 places on the bumper and must be removed....carefully!) and push clips between the bumper and guard under the headlight. If you've done all that you will be faced with wiring for the fog lights on both sides and in ADM Q50 RS at least, 4 nasty tight plugs on the driver's side for the ADAS stuff. So, the clips at the bottom look like this on drivers side (looking from the front) And on the passenger side (also from the front), you can see this one is already out Clearance on both of these are super tight; the condenser needs to move up but the upper rad support mount prevents that, and the radiator can't move down far because it is (rubber) mounted. Once you achieve the impossible and drop the condenser off those mounts so it does not stop the rad moving, you are good to go
