hrmmm license details...

I vote for people who wish to sell in the for sale sections of SAU should provide a good quality scanned/photo of the license and contact details (phone etc).

We would record the persons details and if required for some unknown legal issue discard the licence scan/photo. Possibly even check up with a quick phone call (voip so local cost interstate calls).

I'm currently the SA mod which basically looks after its self these days so I have no issues increasing work load.

I honestly don't buy of ppls I haven't seen around SAU for a long time; which is a bummer as there's quite a few good little items that pop up from time to time that I simply don't purchase due to my suspicious nature. :O

It sadens me to see that most of the people can do the right thing and theres allways those few c**ts that tend to ruin it for every one else

i got ripped off a little while ago from calais turbo so i know how you feel to some extent

And cubes the licence idea is great, but images are so easy to forge these days unfortunatly

Good luck with this shit though

goodluck in finding him!

i got scammed on ebay, saw pictures, looked fine, purchased the item.

rims came, horrible condition, tyres bald, Wrong PCD! advertised as 5x114.3, came as 5x100.

(gotta attribute fault to my stupidity as well. But i guess it happens to most new buyers, now i tend to be more wary) Sold them off for next to nothing as they were buckled etc.

tried to obtain a refund, by calling, emailing and even going through certain govt agencies but not much help.

The agencies just ring him up and he says their the correct rims and they cant do anything abt it. pretty useless. Thought abt flying down to SA to get my money back but at the end of the day, just wasnt worth it.

Just a word of advice weapn; now that you've told the forum your plans - you kinda "need" to keep the meeting "civilized" otherwise you're just breaking the law yourself.

Best of luck with the recovery; as mentioned - hopefully this will be a message to all scammers that personal details are not hard to come by and people do/will catch up!

thanks Satanic

Of course the meeting will be civilised.

Not like I am going to go down there and break his legs.

I wouldnt post that evidence on the forum.

Ive also given details to the cops.

Just a back up plan

    • Not sure the US can import anything other than the C34 Stagea's, but if you can and you need to to tow, DO NOT under any circumstances get an M35 Stagea. If it is just as a family car and your country/state allows it, absolutely and definitely get an M35 (3.5L if possible as it is effectively a 350Z) over a C34.
    • Punch your VIN (nm35-xxxxxx) into Amayama.com You can see everything there quite easily.
    • Thanks for that, I'll check it all out. I can always do the brakes last anyway if its a problem.  The 16's are super cool, if they do fit I'll cruise around with them for a bit.
    • Well, that's kinda the point. The calipers might interfere with the inside of the barrels 16" rims are only about 14" inside the barrels, which is ~350mm, and 334mm rotors only leave about 8mm outboard for the caliper before you get to 350, And.... that;s not gunna be enough. If the rims have a larger ID than that, you might sneak it in. I'd be putting a measuring stick inside the wheel and eyeballing the extra required for the caliper outboard of the rotor before committing to bolting it all on.
    • OK, so again it has been a bit of a break but it was around researching what had been done since I didn't have access to Neil's records and not everything is obvious without pulling stuff apart. Happily the guy who assembled the engine had kept reasonable records, so we now know the final spec is: Bottom end: Standard block and crank Ross 86.5mm forgies, 9:1 compression Spool forged rods Standard main bolts Oil pump Spool billet gears in standard housing Aeroflow extended and baffled sump Head Freshly rebuilt standard head with new 80lb valve springs Mild porting/port match Head oil feed restrictor VCT disabled Tighe 805C reground cams (255 duration, 8.93 lift)  Adjustable cam gears on inlet/exhaust Standard head bolts, gasket not confirmed but assumed MLS External 555cc Nismo injectors Z32 AFM Bosch 023 Intank fuel pump Garret 2871 (factory housings and manifold) Hypertune FFP plenum with standard throttle   Time to book in a trip to Unigroup
