GAY? I cant bite in fear of posting some offensive red neck comment that i dont really mean ...but there is something wrong in the heads of ppl running external gates :)

...and we all know this thing would slaughter both a lion and unicorn

just having a stab in fear of the rb20's with external gates destroying my pissy turbs :(

but it is true when those external gates open..... brilliant i say!

When are you GTR guys going to come to terms with the fact that your cars plain suck! :D

...lol and when are ppl going to stop comparing them? A neat GTSt will be a good all round car. A std GTR is a good all round car. From what i have seen a GTR doesnt have to be very modded to be an even better car, as the factory gave the thing pretty good gear from the start.

...doesnt change the fact that GTR owners have to use velcro shoes because they struggle with shoe laces :O

:laughing-smiley-014:

RB3026 > all :)

Err, then how is it that a r32 gts-t with a 33/34 turbo on it, is faster than a gtst 33 or 34 with the same turbo and more technology? Assuming that 33/34 gts-t's run something like mid 14's in the quarter and your average 32 with a 33/34 turbo on it and minor mods will hit low 14's, maybe high 13's

Also, 32 gtr's hit, 13.3, 13.2 ay?

(the last page of this topic belongs in the wasteland -_-)

Georgey boy,

you can't compare the two, those times come down to driver experience and ability, if you want to go that way, i fried your ass in a total stock standard r33 gtst, and again at wakie.

nathy boy

obviously your driving ability out does mine....... quite obvious!

so i was using liz as an example because i would say her ability and mine are similar. Dont you think??

As your pointing out she should of whipped my ass if she was at your level? right?

and i was refering to the aaron mcgill day not long ago not the renew day @ oran park.

my previous comments were based on the fact that two similar drivers in an r32 and a r33, the r32 would need more to keep up in my opinion. i think you took my post the wrong way mate. just have another read of it

werent u running semi slicks???

cheers

Sorry George, the thread is about rb20vrb25vrb26, useless if you ask me but people can't help themselves, mate the renew trackday was my very first time on a track!!! in any car and wakie only my second. No i wasn't running semi's at oran park but at wakie yes. to tell the truth i think your car should be faster as being lighter of the two and with mods. Stock for stock no i don't believe the rb20 is better or the rb25 better then an rb26, but if you mod the rb20 the right way it will be quicker than an stock rb25, you could also apply it to an rb25 over rb26.

but i my opinion dollar for dollar with same mods and tuning no rb20 will beat an rb25 and same with rb25 to rb26.

Screw the unicorn or whatever other animal you can think of.

If an rb20 wants to beat any other engine possibly known to man it needs help, and the help it gets is from the hippo, dance dance dance boys and girls and the hippo PWNS you.

I was actually pretty impressed with my little mildly modified Rb20det.

It only made 164rwkw running 1bar of boost with an exhaust & fmic.

Up and rolling it was as quick if not a bee's dick quicker than a 100% stock R33 GTR. Now thats not bad really..

It also never ever had issues and never had an R33 with the exact same mods beat it. My little R32 was always a little quicker.

A mate at the time had an R33 with the same mods but obviously making more power than I. His car clearly weighs more and has longer gearing. Driving the R33 vs driving my little R32 the R32 won hands down, it was so much more fun to drive especially when boost snaped on hard exiting a corner in second. He even stated the R32 felt quicker, and it was.

All though for some reason these days there appears to be quite a few r33's pushing 200rwkw on their stock ecu, back then it didn't happen. Most likely different dyno software or something.

Once you pass those first few mods the R32 gets left behind. They require a turbo upgrade that increases lag and makes the car just that little bit harder to drive.

I've never been in Roy's but from the dyno graph it does look impressive, looks like it has that 'fun' factor. :stupid:

An example is the crude power to weight.. Lets go with 1550 for the gtr and 1320 for the 32 gtst. The gtr needs ~30rwkw more in order to achieve a similiar power to weight. An R33... Needs roughly 15rwkw more than the 32 to achieve a similiar power to weight. Thats going off the 33 weighing in at 1415kg's. A friend had his on a weigh bridge some years ago. Power to weight comparisons are crude as, I don't like using them but it does help bring the weight issue in to perspective.

In conclusion the Rb20 will never make power easier than an rb25 or rb26 for that matter. The advantage it has is Nissan tied it up in a lighter car with shorter gearing that all works in its favour.

    • Had another look at the car and I noticed the fuel pump isn't priming on ignition. I'd taken out the pump from the boot to siphon out the old fuel, so maybe I've knocked something loose or broken a wire putting things back together. Will go back with a multimeter and try to work out what's stuffed. Kinda hoping it's the pump itself thats gone so I can upgrade it
    • Yeah agreed, you can't assume that shop are they only people who ever had to work on it. It was just a guess on the mods based on how things were done back then. You can check the Air Flow Meters by the part number on their tags, they are likely either Z32 or Nismo ones (both read about the same but the Z32 one is a little larger while nismo is stock size but supports the higher airflow like a Z32). And yes, all that would get you to 450hp / 340kw To tell what is happening with the turbos, you want a photo of the tag on the core, that will say what it was made out of  (they can retain the front and rear covers to make the plumbing easier)
    • I'm selling my personal race car. 1992 BNR32 Skyline GT-R About eight years ago the engine developed the dreaded low oil pressure problem. I removed it and found the issue. However shortly after I moved half way across the country, moved my work shop, bought a house, got married, then moved my shop again to it's permanent location for the time being. in turn I do not have the time to race this car as it should be. In turn the engine I built for this car will end up in my street car and this car I hope finds a home with someone who can use it to it's full potential. The roll bar was built by Jason Noren Fabricaiton in Pomona California to SCCA and NASA Specs. The car used to compete in redline time attack and global time attack enthusiast class. It also has a fire suppression system.  The car is with me at my workshop in Kyle Texas, USA. Shipping it is no problem, I can personally deliver the car to the port of either Houston or Los Angeles. Any other port depending on where it is may require transport but we can always work that out.   The chassis itself is rust free, rear quarters and under fenders are free of any rust so it's a very solid foundation for anyone who wishes to move forward with it. As posted and at the asking price of $20,000 USD the car includes all of the following;   All OEM Body panels, front fenders, rear bumpers etc.  OEM Nissan Projector headlamps (Pictured N1 lamps were removed) OEM Nismo Side Skirts / Extensions OEM Rear Spats  Front & Rear Subframes are installed car is full roller Rear Subframe has Cusco Camber Arms, Whiteline HICAS Elimination Front Subframe has Whiteline tension rods and whiteline Sway bars w/ endlinks.  Buddy Club N1 Coilovers All chassis wiring and engine wiring is in tact. Attessa System is fully in tact and was functional before engine removal.  BCNR33 GT-R Brembo Brakes F+R with Endless MX72 Plus Pads, DBA Rotors & Stainless Steel Brake lines Billion Racing Radiator Billion Radiator Hoses Fluidyne Engine Oil Cooler Accusump System (trunk Mounted) 5 Speed Transmission w/ Transfer Case F+R Prop-shafts Rear Differential With rear Axles.  Nismo Gauge Cluster Nismo Clutch + Flywheel   Essentially what is needed to make this car running and driving again is as follows: A working Engine, an ECU, and time to put it together. The price posted is or best offer as I am willing to remove some components to accommodate price to a certain extent. If any serious buyer wants full detailed pictures, videos, or any questions I'll be happy to answer them. I believe this car is priced to move quickly considering it's a rust free and very straight chassis but always open to fair negotiation.  I can be contacted via phone or email. • So...to my (and my mechanics doing the swap) surprise...the oil pan from NEO engine does not fit 100% and needs to by modified like this: It is not a huge problem but in the future i want a "proper" oil pan. So question is...what different oil pan can i get to fit without any problems and modification? Thanks!
    • Some more info I found.  These are the last entries Yoshikiyo Fujii made on his blog before he passed away in 2009: http://blog.livedoor.jp/fujii_dynamics/ And finally this is where the workshop was situated:  https://maps.app.goo.gl/HhTPtHzt3WVcBTiEA
