Sciby
Hi guys, First time caller, longtime lurker. I've just bought a '94 R33, which is sitting in Osaka, but I'm already planning what I want to do with it, and I have a couple of questions: - What's an FMIC? Fuel Management Integrated Chip? - If so, is that what a PowerFC does (in addition to everything else it does)? - Are there many/any places in Brisbane that are capable of tuning a PowerFC well? Er... I'm sure I'll think of other questions later, so I'll add them as I go. cheers Sciby. Birty
I'd go a front mount first, personal opinion. I don't know who could tune a PFC, i've yet to really look into the workshops around, although there is quite a few. Front Mounts a pretty basic upgrade, but you will find gains from either, and obviously both. Well, my (self-admittedly naive) plan was to get a new ECU to get the engine as in tune as possible, with a good air/fuel mix... then I'd start organizing a front mount, up'ing the boost, etc. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/1314-newbie-question-thread/#findComment-26286 Share on other sites

Birty
Ah ok, I like misread what you said. I thought you were asking what you want first, FMIC or PFC (power FC). Sciby
Well, your input was still appeciated, Birty... still not sure what to get first. What are the benefits of getting a fmic first over a pfc? ex-static
well a powerfc helps you up the boost more efficiently, but you wont be able to up it to much without an fmic.. so i'd say fmic, pfc, then a new turbo Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/1314-newbie-question-thread/#findComment-26407 Share on other sites

I'd like to get the engine running sweetly as-is, then getting a fmic and winding up the boost, etc. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/1314-newbie-question-thread/#findComment-26410 Share on other sites
Zahos
You would be better of changing and tuning the engine management last, unless you can afford to re-tune it after every other modification. Good question. How much does it cost to get it tuned? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/1314-newbie-question-thread/#findComment-26420 Share on other sites
