nice clean ride bud !..

Tiffany are you talking about exhaust black carbon marks? use NU-Finish orange bottle its pretty daym good stuff..

Yes i am!

Thanks i might have to give it a wirl in that case!

Will it work good on a white car as well.. i can't even get the black stuff of the 33 with degreaser.. :(

Haha, yeah, i know what thats like... watch this space though... when i get a bit more experience under my belt, i may start offering to do club members cars for reasonable prices :P

sweet! what was the promo shoot for? who was the photographer?

:D

Thanks! Hahah, horn on a jellyfish... thats funny ;)

The products i used are:

Meguiars NXT Wash - Available at most auto shops like Supercheap, Autobarn etc

Pinnacle Ultra Fine Clay Bar & Lubricant - Click here!

Meguiars Swirl Remover 2.0 - Available at most auto shops like Supercheap, Autobarn etc

Poorboys Pro Polish with Carnauba - Click here!

Poorboys EX Sealant - Click here!

Poorboys Natty Paste Wax - Click here!

The thing is, every car is different... what works on one car, may not work on another car. Also depends on the condition of your paint, the colour, if its been resprayed previously, etc... there are alot of variables... its just trial and error to see what works. Also depends on what you're looking for in a finish.. whether you want outright shine, or a deep/wet look etc...

I.e. after i had finished, we tried a different polish, from Menzerna on one of the panels, and it was better again than what i had already used... also costs a bit over twice as much ;)

With white, you really have to make up your mind where you draw the line, as the more you spend, you get ever-diminishing returns, as white is probably the hardest colour to get looking really good.

I used a Bosch PEX 400 AE Random Orbital... would be pretty much impossible to get the same sort of finish doing it by hand... the pics don't really do it justice... you literally have to wear sunglasses when looking at it in the sun... lol...

I will reply to the rest of the posts later on tonight when i get to work!

Agree with everything posted here.

i do quite a few mates cars in my spare time and the difference even between factory paints is remarkable.

And no you WILL NOT get as good a result from using elbow grease as an orbital

I will also add that yes white is the hardest to get results, but its also the best test colour for new products. Cheap crap can make any dark colour look decent.

Well done with the links, the Waxit website is ideal for anyone who is serious about their own car or does this professionally or as a side thing.

I do it on the side purely becuase I have two double garages side access and a large driveway that I can put cars on...otherwise I think I would be making some physio a huge amount of money....

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
