See the rear panel on my line (avtar pic), DIY.

A lot of sanding, priming, painting, clear coating, wet and dry, and buffing.

In the end you are better off getting it done professionally though.

for the fibreglass bar, you would reinforce it from the rear, then bog up the front, then sand the rest of it back and paint the whole thing. it isn't 100% required to paint the whole thing, but the size of it you may as well.

i bogged up a deep scratch/small dent on my passenger door. it took me about 2 hours a day after work, for 5 days to get it done. that was sanding/preping it to be bogged, bogging it up, sanding it smooth, undercoating, sanding, painting, sanding, buffing.

Hrm theres no quick way of explaing fiberglass or paint,

I mite have to tear a bumber lying around the workshop, and do a step by step with lots of pics how to repair and paint it. evedn to get you to the steps of primer, then getting a professional to color match and paint. To topcaot a bumber should be around 100$.

Anyone interested?

Best way to fix scratches you'll need.

*A buffer if you want to do it propertly , with a Autoglym Pad

*The correct touch up paint

*AUTOGLYM Ultrafine cutting compund.

*Wax and grease remover

1.Whipe the scratch over with wax and grease remover.

2.Apply the touch up paint leave it proud of the paint surface.

3.Wait for the paint to dry for atleast 24 hours

4.With the buffer on 1500rpm use the fine cutting compund to slowly blend the to surfaces together. Being gentle and never leave the buff in one spot or it will create to much heat. Nice and gentle is the key word.

What kind of bog do u use for a crack on a fibreglass front bar. Ive reinforced the rear, just need to fill the cracks.

thanks

Bl4cK32 - there was an issue in the first or 2nd drift battle for repairs.

fibre glass repairs are fairly easy, you do need to remove some material from the crack then reinforce from the rear of the bar which will slightly fill in the gap you just made, then sand back any over hang into the front of the piece.

then use an automotive putty (try to get the fibreglass to fill it mostly) then sand back.

there is then a small tin of red quick dry putty available from repco/autoone etc that is pre mixed and only suitable for up to 2mm, that you wipe over to fill in the very fine bubbles dents etc ..

then once its near perfect, use a can of primer/filler .. then wet/dry the area til all the area is flush . old paint and new section, ready for the respray of the item

    • Hey keep the ideas coming, I'm always keen on projects! But, problem fixed!  I got a cheapie ozito scope from Bunnings and had a good look in and around the bearing and sensor hole. I couldn't see a smoking gun but the bearing looked a bit strange, especially when comparing with a new one. I thought the cover had come off the bearing magnets.  Sorry for pics of a screen, I didn't have an SD card.     Good thing I had the old one to inspect. So, given I'm like a pit crew with wheel bearings and luckily I had a spare bearing because I f**ked up my parts order, I decided to just smash it out. Got the old one out in about an hour. So much easier when the parts haven't had a chance to rust together yet. 😂 And, well, found the problem.    In the second pic at about the 8 o'clock position, you'll see what I think is the tip of the old sensor.  The new sensor has definitely been rubbing but it's all intact, just a little shiny so I'm hoping it's fine.  The car brakes perfectly now and no errors.  I think the job took about 2.5h in the end. 👍🏻 I really appreciate the help in here as usual. Thanks guys.
    • I was only looking because I saw some drops on the ground but it wasn't alot. Recently had it serviced will ask the mech to confirm. Find it strange that it looks standard though, can see in another photo of a random box
    • So...not sure if you know if that has always been there or why you went looking. It could be old damage from a clutch explosion, or even just the gearbox got dropped somewhere along the line. Basically, you should seal it up to stop oil and dust getting into the bellhousing, but it doesn't matter too much and is not structural. I'd suggest something like a glob of JB Weld. BTW what gearbox oil are you running, I would guess the breather has been spewing it everywhere.
    • Hey Duncan thanks for your reply. Sorry mate I know the photos are shit.  Took another photo for reference. Seems the casing does have a hole in it looking on the net, fluid seeping out. Added a photo
    • Very hard to make out what you mean, is it the squarish hole with redline shockproof (probably) under it? Is that pic from on top of the engine with the firewall to the left of pic and engine to the right? Either way, spray the area liberally with degreaser and try again, maybe circle the part you are worried about
