Nismo R33 Gtst Exhaust .

Hi all , my R33 came with a Nismo catback which is very quiet . It has the rear muffler with two internal perforated pipes through it . Can anyone say for sure if these are restrictive and if so what fits this system thats quiet and flows well . The metal matrix Catco cat will be the first performance mod to this car and it would be good to keep it quiet .

It is better to have a quiet car as you will not stand out as much and wont and youcan still

hear your stereo over the car and you will gain a good boost of performance going to a turboback3in

as the nismo is only 2.5 inch and still fairly restrictive, system such a hks silent power ,apexi n1 and trust peII are both fairly quite untill youopen it up,will be slightly different with high flow cats and 3in front pipe.

make sure that ur nismo ext. is ont sportsmode there should be a little switch to change between the too.

I have heard that Nismo exhausts come in 3"? I have bought a 3" mid-section that I was told was Nismo.

I've heard they are quiet, but i'm also keen to know how much more flow you can gain from a noisier exhaust.

hey randy, how much did you pick the 3" Nismo exhaust for? i'm looking to buy one.

It has a single 4 inch tip with at least 3inch piping. Internally, the rear muffler has two pipes that i assume are to decrease restriction while remaining quiet. Also has a straight through middle muffler. Its not the "normal" nismo exhaust with the twin tip and butterfly valve setup but it is a nismo genuine cat back.

And i thought you didnt want a loud car :P ;p , quiet doesnt always mean restrictive, it looks like an quality exhaust.

The cat and stock front pipe would be more of a restriction than that catback.

      Are you thinking of Bens R32? I don't remember if his went through the bonnet itself, but it went through the chassis rail. Brad (RISKIN) bought it, and turned it into a track car. It's funny how anti people are of Jim Berry now. I remember when I pulled mine out (during an engine change) and inspected it and found it cracking badly. At that point in time so many people were even on SAU, were so pro Jim Berry, and that was after Bens GTR exploded his quite publically.

      That's one of the reasons I got that breed, they look weird, the other reasons are they small, they are very vocal, and run around like they are on crack, I didn't want a breed that just sits around, these two are like kids on red cordial  My daughter has one, and it's a laugh riot, constantly doing Parkour around the house, sits on her shoulder, plays catch, and constantly runs around the house taking turns chasing the dog around, her Bermese though, just lays around with constant bitch face, and just looks on in utter disgust at the cat and dog playing together

      I'm getting PTSD flashbacks seeing that name again.  With my turbo swift, I got 1,500km of street use on a Jim Berry clutch before it exploded and took out my input shaft with it.
