Engine Squeak

Hey, my R33 has developed a skueak, seams to be comming from the back of the engine near the turno. Does anyone have any idea what it might be? Also it had a vibration near the timming cover, I can feel and hear it at about 2000rpm any ideas what that might be? any help would be appreciated, cheers

The vibration near the timing cover will probably be the timing belt, a friend with a r33 also had the same problem, my r34 has a slight whine/noise from there also! as with most vl's with the rb30.

Should really get them check out by your mechanic.

The squek can be you turbo on it's way out

The vibration can be worn idler pulleys or worn belt. If either of these two fail the engine will require a complete rebuild, including the head.

These of course are worse case senarios, but no-one will be able to diagnose over the net, plenty could have a guess though

put you ear to a screwdriver (long one) and place it on the non moving parts on the pullys... u can pin point noises that way!! works well.. i do it all the time 4 pullys at work

spray some dry lube or tac or something on the belts as well.. may help
