whats the reason behind this????

Sold me a car that could not be driven, and had LOTS of illegal parts on it

After they had my money they would not even talk to me

They did not change the tires on the car to aus. legal tires

Alam was not wired correctly, and drained the battery

Spacers on the wheels - wheels rubbed into the wheel guard

POD filter not secured and not covered

etc

etc

etc

We went there once and MOST of their cars are in really crap condition....You have to be careful with places like that....they'll rip ya off.... :( Especially around the Northern Suburbs area....Did you go down there to purchase the car??

Yep, JSA is well known for that sort of stuff.

It's kind of a big joke really

Sorry to hear about what happened.

Why can't it be driven?

Yeh flew down to Melb to buy the car. They took everything off the car, got it complied and then put it back on - i didnt know at the time half of it was not legal... by the time i found out it had been a fair while.

It can be driven now, but i had to spend a LOT to get it drivable and legal

Tires scrubbed out when driving over a little bump or cats eye due to spacers

I have been having an ongoing battle with them and they threatened to "countersue" if I proceeded with legal action.

ahh I see.. yer thats pretty dodgy.

The car was stock when i test drove it (they said for compliance they had to have it stock)

Then they said i would get all these nice extra bits (most of which were illegal)

They complied it, then wacked all the other stuff on, trucked it up to me and then wouldnt talk to me

R33 GTS-t

Problems were:

Alarm incorrectly wired

Spacers

No hub locators (dangerous)

Cat back exhaust (not turbo back as promised they would put on)

No coil over suspension as promised

Tires not Aus. legal

AND they void the warranty they supplied before i got the car (it is only valid if car is STOCK - what a scam)

tell them your gonna take am to consumer affairs and see how quickly they change there tune then :(

I've done that

They threatened to counter sue, and consumer affairs said i have to take it up to the next level because it has been 12 months now, im still finding things to fix, only JUST found the battery drain problem last month (it was the alarm which they installed)

Has anyone sued a car yard in a similar situation before?

I am 90% decided I will go down this road very shortly

lol. i fail to see what case they would have if they counter sue... judginy by what you said they've participated in illegal business practices

unless you signed some form of contract i dunno what they can counter sue you with

Well I dont think its legal to strip a car down, comply it, and they put the parts back on to sell it.

Im sure if they tried to comply it with the jap tires etc then it would not have passed, so how can they expect me to drive it like that if it would not comply.

The "counter sue" was just a bluff I expect, what can they sue ME for? being dumb enough to buy a car from them is all I can think of

    • End game is to: - Remove all the slop from old worn parts - Adjust setup so that the wheels actually fit and the car is drivable (currently it is not because of the extreme rubbing on the guards).   Progress over the last couple of days, removed the rear hubs! Next steps: - Buy bushings - Replace bushings/bearings on hub - Reinstall

    • A few random issues have popped up since my last update. My WMI pressure sensor failed within about 10 minutes of it seeing liquid. It was a 20$ China special, so I'm not surprised. My name brand replacement should arrive today.  My power steering assist also decided to crap out last weekend. The usual, works for about 60 seconds after starting the car then I lose it. I dusted off my old copy of NDS and connected to the HICAS ECU. Code 4 for assist solenoid.... I tested the solenoid and it's fine.  I knew the day where my HICAS ecu would crap out would come, and I welcome it. It was the last HICAS part on the car that is now in the bin. I've ordered an SSR and I will control the power steering solenoid with my Haltech ecu. It will be nice to have proper speed referenced assist again after all these years.
