You got any evidence to back your statement?

Bought my 34 from them 2 yrs ago and it was mint. Great service from Paul as well. I've done 70,000ks since then and the only thing tht has needed replacement was a faulty o2 sensor. Got a few extra bits thrown in even after the deal was sealed.

Few members on here have bought through Motorman as well and have nothing short of a positive experience.

Sure their prices may be a bit high, but what business is not out there to make $$?

ive been ther numerous times.. and i have been out the back of ther shop and seen some dodgy things. if u would like to discuss it more jon PM me. not something a yard should be doin..

im not complaining bout the cars or quality. the service aint too great. they are blatant rip offs and my gf's family have brought off them many times. but have brough all junk. sorry they dnt seem like the best yard.. but then again im yet to find a yard that puts the customer first.

I bought my S1 R33 (Nov '93) from Motorman 3 years ago (through Derek) - I know it wasn't the cheapest I could get one for, but it was my first Skyline and I was looking for someone to steer me in the right direction, and for $14,000 on road, complied, registered, I was happy - particularly with the service!

Derek went out of his way to find me a car with ALL of my requested specs, sent me options with auction sheets prior purchasing, and he even bought the car with no obligation from me to buy it! After compliance, he even sent me over to a Springwood exhaust shop and put an aftermarket exhaust on it for me - no charge. I've had NOTHING go wrong with my (older model) R33 to this date (touch wood!).

I am now in the market for an R34 GTT, and have had no hesitation in going back to Motorman - they will take back the R33 as a trade for a very reasonable price too.

I'd be interested in hearing what dodgy things they're doing Markimak - PM me please.

(it also seems strange that your gf's family would go back to them many times if all of their purchases were junk)

That's because you dealt with me! :( Seriously, when I sold cars long ago it was always a pleasure to deal with "grown ups" like Spooks. (And that blueprint sedan was a sweet car too mate!, hehe, I chose the colour because I liked it on my GTR ;)

Dom From AJM is good, he is a mate of mine.

Motorman and Import Auto Centre are dodgy as hell

Gavin at Right Price auto imports on the sunny coast is a good guy

streetmachines was the El'dodgy

autoshop is ok, very overpriced.

another vote for motorman imports, i got my 32 of them last september.... completely stock even had the original tape deck lol. really helpful and friendly

Yes.

Completly stock and it even had the original tape deck!111111111111

When i bought my car i was like LOLOMG IT HAS TEH AWRIGINAL TAPE DECK.

5 months later i was cleaning my car and found an instruction book for a pioneer dvd player and screen in the back part of the passenger seat where u keept a refidex or something.

Dont believe because its stock it must have always been like that, Its not the case.

Paul Motoman imports - Pauls a top bloke Got my 34 off him... found the perfect car with specs color etc from japland.. with auction sheets etc totally stock

I bought my 34 from Import Auto Centre and were really impressed with Mark's (the manager) service.

The only problem i have had with the car was the gay kenwood head deck that was in it was draining the battery, but Mark replaced the battery and also gave me money towards a new headdeck (instead of getting the old one repaired).

They also provided me with a loan car (another 34, however, NA, tippy) for a week, seeing as i was initially told i could pick my 34 up a week before it was actually going to be ready.

Furthermore, they also sent me a dinner voucher a few weeks ago as a thankyou for buying my car through them.

Overall, i have been extremely pleased with my car and also Mark's service and would honestly recommend them to anyone!!!

One of my friends bought his 32 through Street Machines and had heaps of trouble and received very poor service from one of the salesmen, who shall remain nameless... His turbo let go within one week of buying the car and had all sorts of trouble trying to get it replaced under warranty.

thanks ben! (i think, it was a while back!)

i used to drive past our car every day and was totally in love with it

hasnt caused us a lick of trouble and still goes like the clappers (just wish it used less fuel)

street machines fixed all the little niggles with it we had, with out complaining or fuss

didnt mind that we paid a premium price for the car, considering the condition it was in

mate, it was a pleasure dealing with you and theo

i was suprised that others didnt have the same experience

street machines is gone now hey?

Yeah i bought the white 34 GTT manual sedan, with the nismo kit. I pretty much bought it straight off the boat. I had the deposit on it before compliancing was finished and picked it up as soon as the plate was on it. So it was never sitting in the yard, except for waiting for the compliance plate to arrive.

Mark also had it organised for my alarm to be fitted while we were waiting on the plate, which was great. Saved me having to stuff around to get it done.

lol i drove that car... im very good mates with Mark... its went alright, likes clutch popping second. its a beautiful car

My poor car... Yeah i love it. I test drove a silver 4 door GTT at Motorvation down at burleigh, but the gearbox and clutch felt really dodgey and it just looked really ordinary and had a fair bit of surface rust in it.

As soon as i saw mine at Import Auto Centre, i just had to have it. Took it for a test drive and put the deposit on it straight away. Just wish it had the clear indicators in the front bar though.

Kape had told me about 2 months before the car came in that they were expecting it to come in late Oct and had shown me a pic of it at the auctions. I had heaps of trouble finding a 4dr turbo manual... I picked it up just before chrissy.

    • Sounds like you've got an interesting adventure ahead here with local support if you have trouble! My guess is that, unboosted, you will be OK with a small upgrade like -9. What will happen is that once the stock ECU sees more airflow than it expects it will add a heap of fuel and pull a heap of timing to be safe because it can't understand how it could get that much air without there being an issue. You will see clouds of black smoke and it won't pull hard through the midrange and top end. So, overall it will be a bit frustrating but should be OK. If you are still nervous set the base timing back 2o through the CAS, but it will be even more sluggish everywhere. As said above through...this is not my guarantee your engine won't be blown into a million pieces, leaving you looking for very hard to find parts A better idea is get a computer with logging ASAP, wire in a wide band O2 sensor and a use remote tuner. I've done multiple cars this way and while it is not as good as a specific tune on a dyno they can get it 90% right. I'd suggest if you can afford an R33 GTR these days you can afford an ECU and tune. And if you can't afford that you sure won't be able to afford the rebuild if it goes bad in the meantime,.
    • Yeah it would be nice if someone took the time to put that sort of information together, but there are a lot of variations in looms. I think you are making this way hard for yourself if you just want to get it running....sourcing an SR20 with the right wiring will be a billion times easier than matching the RB loom to an S15 chassis. If you do end up going this way, you just need to trace every wire in the loom with a multimeter, 95% of them will go to a location you can confirm at the ECU.....and then post it up for the next person who needs it
    • Just top it up with water, and keep a general idea of how much you added. It is normal for water to be pushed into and pulled out of the reservoir through the cap, and it should not be more than half full or it will be likely to overflow when hot. Any decent mechanic can do a pressure test of the cooling system to confirm if you have a leak. Keep in mind if it is only leaking a little and when hot it may well evaporate before you see it hit the ground
    • I'd ask the shop what they used and use that. Mixing coolants is sometimes OK, sometimes not, and you have know the details of each coolant to know whether it's a good idea or not.
    • Is it alright to top up with just another green coolant?
