Some Weird Nob under my steering Wheel?

on the part that my steering wheel connects to, down on the right side there is this nob? i don't know what it does i gave it 1/4 of a turn then turned it back, what is it? anyone have any idea?

sure you don't mean the nob behind the wheel? :bahaha: ...sorry couldn't resist...

but seriously it's probably the dimmer switch for the instrument lights that was installed to comply with the ADRs.

since conversion and replaced my auto dash cluster with a manual one, that dimmer light doesn't work anymore... will this be a problem?

...don't know...has the car already been complied? If so it's more of a roadworthy item I guess???

The car is already complied last year, registered since last year. this thing start not working 3 months ago. I guess would be RWC issue if I ever sell the car.

Yes, of course there is a difference between manual & auto cluster. Auto cluster has gearshift indicator in the middle between tacho and speedo:

A manual cluster don't have that. The diameter of the tacho and speedo are also a bit smaller in the auto because it needs the space to fit that gear indicator in between them. Or maybe they were just a bit further apart from each other, dunno.

ahh ok, coz on r32, the little shift indicator for auto is not part of main cluster

yeah in the r32 the gear indicator is under the cluster behind (hidden by) the steering wheel... not that its important seeing as you should know whether your in drive or reverse!
