what most of them lack in brain capacity they try to make it up with big engines,

the jap cars are way superior, and like mentioned the commondores are way too heavy so they would need like 500hp to be anything worth while...

Munch Munch V8's For Lunch!!!

I was driving my Father-in-Laws FTO to work one morning, (Skyline was at the mechanics) and had this di(khead in a new Monaro come flying up behind me. He was tailgating me for about 1.5km. Call it coincidence but as all this was happening I had the radio on listening to the traffic report telling everyone where all the speed cameras were. Then I heard it. There was a speed camera up ahead. I travel to work via the same route every day and I know where the cameras usually are.

The guy in the Monaro was still all over my arse until we came to a stop at a set of lights. I could see the speed camera up ahead (white Rav 4). Lights go green, I give this guy the best run I could. Two lanes merge into one and I jump on the brakes. Monaro flys past the speed camera doing at least 100kph in a 60kph zone. Pissed myself laughing all the way to work.

Bloody hell. That's insane. Did that happen here in Newy? I can understand being pissed off that somone fishtailed into my lane, but getting a bat out is going just a bit too far.

Yeah man was in Newy.. he was sooo pissed off.. His head was like a cherry.. I made a point of flogging his crappadores arse... its pretty funny cos the datto had IRS and leaves 2 nice black marks on fish tail... It woulda looked awesome from where he was  Well I woulda liked to see it..

ohhh how i miss my old datto.. ohhh well got me 30 n 33 now

HAhahahahhahahahahahahahaaa!!!!! That would have made my week. Woulda made an excelent MPEG  we should get more camera's in our cars to record this kinda stuff....

Something to tell the grand kids that for sure.... "When i was a young fellah" LOL

Good work

My mate's a holden fan and i've been in his Series II Calais (Supercharged V6) a number of times and marvel at the off the line grunt it has from the supercharger. He also loves the top end power and general feel of my R33.

Currently my car is putting out a heap more power than the Calais but he still gets me off the line every time cause of the amount of low down torque.

Our concensus is an R8 HSV and R34 GTR would be the top 2 cars to have in the garage.

LMAO...

that will happen with a stocka 6 as well, its because u have to wait a bit for the power to come in the turbo car, but kicks arse after lag

I think the best Commodore to have in the garage is one of the lightest ones. The SV8.

The R8's tend to be way to heavy.

I've looked up roughly what the 285kw R8 Clubsports run and they are in the low 14's. Thats not really that good considering the power they are making.

got flipped off by a commodore driver today on the highway, for no reason at all!! dont even know the bloke driving it, but his "swoit as" commodore looked like a box of shit. thing is i dont even own an import yet, so he couldnt of been hating on the car i was in. im still drivin my mums car. so wat was up with that???

seraphyn...

Yeh, like in my previous post.. These types of drivers are "tools" in their purest form. They pretty much just hate every1 regardless of what car your driving.

Everyone! Download these songs

"Why Do I Try So Hard" by "Two Up"

"Mr Tough Guy" by "Ugly Duckling"

*can be downloaded from Kazaa, probably Soulseek too.

I think these songs relate to a lot of young holden drivers... The lyrics rhyme, are true, & hilarious at the same time.

yeah most the time we have to play catch up, but doesnt take long to send these heros searching for excuses...."it wazin in sports mode mate", "yeah, i do have 2 people in the car", "um....didnt want to show off"....hehehe

guess they dont figure the fact there trying to haul round 1700kg of "sports car", I'm not agains Holdens or Fords or anything else for that matter, they can all make good power, it's just there wieght an handling capabilties holding them back really....

we took the boat out on the river on sat to do a bit of fishing, when we got back to the ramp, there was this commo driver with fully sik chrmoies bogged deep in the sand. the idiot reversed his trailer boat into the river with his commo and couldnt get out!!

so we had to give em a tow with the ol 4wd....

i took a photo of em with my phone, hopefully it works out...

    • Yeah pretty impressive hey, good to see quality products not over-shooting their prices. That's what drew me to buy the hypergear turbo, just a shame I've never got the chance to see it in action
    • Thank you GTSBoy and MBS206 I have done the compression test with the motor out of the vehicle, reason for the test was to see if I needed to remove the head and do rings etc while its out. I'm in the process of respraying the vehicle and tidying up a few things. Story behind it all is I've just purchased the skyline and it was running when I got it, never drove it on the street though as I wanted to pull it down and do it all up again before registering it. the gentleman I purchased it from told me the motor has a forged bottom end and has a decent tune through it but I was going to pull the sump off anyway to see if it is a forged bottom end. that's why I thought id do a compression test beforehand.
    • Man, I'm kind of amazed that the price of the turbo has not changed in 7 years. Everything else is inflating beyond reason, but not this? Good on Tao / hypergear I guess? Anyways, good luck with the sale!
    • I'm selling my brand new, in the box, never used Hypergear ATR45 - and I had some additions I paid for a few yrs back when I purchased it. Never ended up having the rest of the money to add all the mods at once, so I just ended up slowly selling each part. I originally had it internally gated, with the dump pipe, however I found it was incompatible with what I was going to use it for, so I contacted (I think Ken) from Hypergear, and he and I messaged back and forth & he got me to ship the turbo back, where they modified it & made it externally gated, and gave me the 5 bolt dump pipe attachment for custom welding. (Photos below) This turbo like I said has never touched the inside of an engine bay, it's completely brand new, never used, been sitting in the same box it arrived in, covered in plastic & all. Below are the photos of it: And while the guys at Hypergear were making it in-shop, they sent me some photos of the process: I'm looking at selling this just because I'm in need of the money right now, and don't have plans on modifying the 34 anytime soon - and from reviews & peformance sheets, this turbo had amazing results back when I was researching. The turbo was purchased in 2018 for $1.9k, with the mods I got added on. Looking at the website now, for the same turbo they sell (ATR45SAT), with the current addons it adds up to $1830 for the turbo Current addons included: - Bolted dump adaptor - Ball bearing CHRA - Braided oil feeding line So I'm looking to possibly sell it for around $1800, with shipping included in that 1.8k, It cost me around $120 to ship - so yeah thought I'd throw it out there and see if anyone was interested in purchasing. Cheers!
