To all S14/S15/R32/R34 Coupe/Subaru Impreza owners,

Over the past few months, I have been designing and fabricating fibreglass gauge pods for the R33 Skyline and S13 series cars (see pics HERE). I have been selling a few of the R33 pods here on this forum (check out my Trader Rating  ) but have recently come to an agreement with an Eastern States company (www.JustSR.com) that they will distribute the R33 & S13 gauge pods. We both hope the range will be expanded to include the S14 & S15 models and also R32 & R34 Skylines as well as all model WRXs.

I am currently trying to source any owners in Perth (preferably NOR) that have an S14, S15, R32, R33 4 door, R34 Coupe, Subaru Impreza - All models and doesn't have to be WRX) available that I can use either at my residence or even yours as a base to make the gauge pod design for those models. I wholly understand anybody's reluctance to loan an unknown person their car - I have already loaned several cars from Autoworx in Wangara (Perth-based Japanese car importers) over several weekends and I would freely invite anyone to contact Paul Hewitt at Autoworx for a reference on how well I looked after his cars. Any car that may be stored at my house will sit aside my highly modified R33 in the locked garage and will not be driven AT ALL. See feedback post from "play r 32" below (post #6)

At 31 years old and a business person, I'm not just a young 'hoon' and I regard myself as a very professional person to deal with and take a lot of respect for others and their property.

If you are seriously interested (no spams please), please email me for more information. I am prepared to offer a free gauge pod when they are finished or monetary compensation for the use of your car.

Regards,

Alan

you champion, a relative of mine has an s15, dunno how interested he'd be about leaving his car at sumone else house cos i get hit for even touching it but i know he is extremly keen on one of these ever sinse he saw one at paul's, and yes paul speaks very highly of you!!! expect an email from him asap!!!

regards

Thanks to those people who contacted me recently - an R32 Skyline is no longer required. I have R32 GTR sitting in my garage as I speak and have a R32 Gts-t for a few days this week.

I am however, still trying to source an S14(or S14a)/S15/R34 and ANY model Subaru Impreza (doesn't have to be a WRX - they all have the same dash shape).

Cheers,

Alan

  • 3 weeks later...

I just found out that the 4 door versions are slightly different to the 2 door versions. The pod I have made for the R34 is for a 4 door model, so I now want to source a R34 2 door for a weekend. If you are interested, please contact me.

Also - I'm STILL after a S15 200SX as well

I lent my pride and Joy to Allan for a couple of days so i can vouch for his professionalism. My car was safely locked away the whole time and even came back cleaner than when i dropped it off.

just in case anyone is in 2 minds about lettin there baby out of there sight.

I realised the other day that have I a friend that recently bought a MY04 WRX (model previous to the current/new one), but it would be good if can source a GC-GF chassis based Impreza as well (MY94-MY00).

Nizmo - yeah I'm patient. I've got a Mazda3 MPS and an S14 to finish over the next couple of weekends anyway. I'm in no rush.

Please help me out here - Does no-one own a R34 that they can part with for a weekend???

I've now loaned a total of NINE cars from various people and have earned the reputation that I can be trusted to loan your car.

Oh and I'd also llike to find a R33 Sedan too :(

  • 2 months later...

After many months of lamenting of not being able to source an R34 coupe, I had one for this weekend and managed to make a single AND double gauge pod.

The bad news is that due to lack of funds to get they won't be available for about 2-3 months. In the last 6-7 months I have 31 gauge designs that I have made for various model cars and they all take time and money to mould and fabricate.

See link in the first post for website link & pics of the R34 coupe designs though. I will post updates when the Skyline pods will become available.

Hey Alan,

Im back from holidays if you want a lend of the impreza again  Should've made it last weekend - being a long weekend it did nothing but sit in the garage .... ubt i didnt think of it sorry! :)

Thanks Lauren but I am getting married in 2 1/2 weeks time so gauge pod work will be halted for a while. I have been incredibly busy and have a total of 31 designs that have been prototyped. I just need to raise the funds to get all moulds completed, but all Skyline models are a priority

I will be in contact if I need the Liberty again

    • The German place in Cabramatta was rock solid, fresh pretzel cooked to order back then. Then it went all quiet, after all the poker machines were removed, then I believe it closed for good. I did drive past the other week and noticed outdoor lighting a big screen, but no idea what is there now.
    • Yeah I suspect even if you hold airmass per cycle/cylinder constant if you get too far away from stock you're still going to have problems running the factory tune within the bounds of the factory load scale. Cams, different displacement/rod ratio, etc. I'm just lucky that the GTIII-SS with wastegate boost + CA compliance cats is pretty much equivalent to stock turbos. When I have actual space I can finally get it tuned and modify the fuel system for flex fuel to 100% handle any detonation concerns when cranking the boost to whatever those dinky turbos can put out.
    • I would say no, why, because my daughter, who also lives in Goulburn, hasn't recommended us going there Pity, as we miss all the German joints around in Sydney, actually, the restaurants are the only thing I really miss about Sydney, and a special mention to Ishibanboshi at Bondi Junction, their Kara-age Don is heart cloggingly deliciousness (always added a special boiled egg...or 2) 😋
    • Does that German restaurant still exist in the old place out the NW end of Goulburn? When I say "out the NW end of"...I am really being vague. It was 1997 when I was last there, and the only point of reference I can recall is that it was on the opposite side of the main drag from the big merino. And when I say "opposite side of the main drag", I don't mean "on the main drag". It was either a couple of streets back from there, or might have even been out in the sticks a bit further. Was an old farm building or mill or somesuch. And when I say "the big merino" I might actually be thinking of a completely different part of town, because I just looked on maps and the big bugger is not where I remembered him to be! The food was good, consisting largely of various German mystery-meat sausage/loaf things and kartofflen.
    • So while the second sentence is completely correct and the whole point of the conversation, the first sentence bears consideration. If this bloke is just hoping to throw big turbos on and drive it around, because there are no helpful facilities at all in his tropical paradise** then he likely has zero chance of even knowing what the TP is on the last column in the stock maps, let alone know whether the ECU is operating anywhere near it or past it. So the point is very very moot. And, per what I said before, at stock boost on those turbos, you may well be off the end of the map. **I'm just back from Vanuatu, so I know exactly what small Pacific nations can be like wrt paradise without requisite facilities. But it's not even that simple. I put a high flow on my car and had to drive it around without a proper tune because of the lack of opportunity*** to put the bigger AFM and injectors into it to allow it to be tuned. I had to turn the boost down to less than I had before, and back off the boost controller's ramp, because it was exploring parts of the map that it didn't drive in before, and really couldn't access for tuning on the dyno either, and so was pinging. It was still well within the last column, because when I first**** set up the Nistune on the Neo I rescaled all axes of the maps to give some more space to explore. ***Family dyno was broken ****This was 13 years ago, and the TIM thing wasn't a thing then and so TP would definitely grow when pushing past the stock tune's limits.
