hey all,

just wondering can any1 comfirm info on warnys car thats up for sale?

Td06 with forgies for 23k...

who was the previous owner?

what shop did the work?

and hows it been kept from what you sau guys know?

keen on buying it

cheers guys.

fitted the TD-06 beginning of the year after selling the gt350 turbo it had before(check my trade record)

Td-06 was rebuilt by grant with better internals (low mount for sleeper effect)

Tial wastegate was chosen cos trust gates too big and i hate the name turbosmart (no offense)

has been well kept and most workshops will know it if you drove there.

Glen(hyperdrive) was the tuner (when i fiddled with the settings ;)

it was one of the first WA cars with forgies (GTRKEN calls it the $3000 piston car lol)and has had forged internals all its life.

car came in 1999 with 8000ks and sat between a maserati and lexus as a weekend toy/autosalon showcar .- its a late 1997 build so this is not fake.

friend left and sold to another bloke who also left country.

car was sitting in backyard when I heard it was for sale from evolution R

Evolution R did all the checks and bargaining and we had it from 40,000km+

changed a LOT of stuff on it that i didnt like( u will notice the number of stereo installs it has had e.t.c).

removed a little stuff before selling ;)

kept in contact with new owner for further assistance but havent heard from him lately (sup danny)

Only major drama was clutch problems=plates that need replacing cos we rode the clutch/drag combat (fabian) spigot bush/warping plates etc (replaced by imports 101 twice)

has a brand new clutch according to workshop i visited that worked on it recently(supertec)

most major skyline dramas like power steering pump rebuilds have been done(perth gearbox & clutch)

umm the list of stuff is pretty accurate except for a few gliches like the blowoff is a apexi twin chamber and the intercooler is the oldskool big end tank trust cooler (unless changed after sale)

everything else is there for sure (u can hear the tomei pump buzzing........LOL)

ITS ONE MEAN CAR. (no ABS)

hope that helps.

Evolution R will have most of the reciepts (maybe) but the rebuild was 12k and total of other stuff was 47k(when japanese parts were ridiculously priced). but these have changed, eg it used to have wise sports 19 inch wheels but now has 5zigens and thats the third exhaust (went from twin to single and back to twin).

had sparco bucket seats before and r33 gtr brembos (sold em cos needed spacers). do luck suspension braces (taken off). CDT audio speakers(replaced) and has had four interior retrims(trimcare) etc so u may not see where all the money has been spent

Mao at evolution r will confirm all this if he can be bothered to do so (u will have to pester him)

did not get it from rob 77 steve. surprised it is sick because the rebuild reciepts/wastegate custom job is less than a year old and been running 0.9 bar, but u would know better. As far as im concerned the turbo was perfect (talk to Grant hes the turbo expert and will show $$ worth of work). and the frontpipe was custom made by andre(xspeed)

I know he didnt buy it from Rob but its the turbo that was on that car in the past but was replaced by Full throttle for Jeff Issac.I think its getting a new Turbo 2morro.

when u talk about 'he' who do u mean? im a lil confused cos ............. AH WELL!!! heres where THAT turbo came from WHEN I fitted it.

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...493&hl=kidd

sat in evolution R for a while, car getting other attention

after that needed FULL rebuild(peace of mind). 'minimal' shaft play just didnt cut it :)

Grant guaranteed it was 'better than new"

fitted with adaptor and new front pipe :)

internal gate didnt work(I was warned) :D

thought it was avc-r (it wasnt)

TIAL external gate custom fitted :)

frontpipe custom made :)

few issues solved (custom metal gaskets-manifold inspected for leaks etc)

started missing old turbo(car was off road for total 6wks flat & in and out 3 weeks)

rest is history :)

moral of story= its cheaper to buy a new turbo kit (trust me)

evolution R, supertec, xspeed(frontpipe2), exhaust torque(frontpipe1), and per4manz turbos will confirm all

this

PS:thanks alpinestars for compliment and yeah jezza1 u can PM me but I gave warny a full list of mods already and he knows his stuff :D Id buy it :)

NIB: not trying to cause an argument just stating facts as I know it.

Paul :)

    • The German place in Cabramatta was rock solid, fresh pretzel cooked to order back then. Then it went all quiet, after all the poker machines were removed, then I believe it closed for good. I did drive past the other week and noticed outdoor lighting a big screen, but no idea what is there now.
    • Yeah I suspect even if you hold airmass per cycle/cylinder constant if you get too far away from stock you're still going to have problems running the factory tune within the bounds of the factory load scale. Cams, different displacement/rod ratio, etc. I'm just lucky that the GTIII-SS with wastegate boost + CA compliance cats is pretty much equivalent to stock turbos. When I have actual space I can finally get it tuned and modify the fuel system for flex fuel to 100% handle any detonation concerns when cranking the boost to whatever those dinky turbos can put out.
    • I would say no, why, because my daughter, who also lives in Goulburn, hasn't recommended us going there Pity, as we miss all the German joints around in Sydney, actually, the restaurants are the only thing I really miss about Sydney, and a special mention to Ishibanboshi at Bondi Junction, their Kara-age Don is heart cloggingly deliciousness (always added a special boiled egg...or 2) 😋
    • Does that German restaurant still exist in the old place out the NW end of Goulburn? When I say "out the NW end of"...I am really being vague. It was 1997 when I was last there, and the only point of reference I can recall is that it was on the opposite side of the main drag from the big merino. And when I say "opposite side of the main drag", I don't mean "on the main drag". It was either a couple of streets back from there, or might have even been out in the sticks a bit further. Was an old farm building or mill or somesuch. And when I say "the big merino" I might actually be thinking of a completely different part of town, because I just looked on maps and the big bugger is not where I remembered him to be! The food was good, consisting largely of various German mystery-meat sausage/loaf things and kartofflen.
    • So while the second sentence is completely correct and the whole point of the conversation, the first sentence bears consideration. If this bloke is just hoping to throw big turbos on and drive it around, because there are no helpful facilities at all in his tropical paradise** then he likely has zero chance of even knowing what the TP is on the last column in the stock maps, let alone know whether the ECU is operating anywhere near it or past it. So the point is very very moot. And, per what I said before, at stock boost on those turbos, you may well be off the end of the map. **I'm just back from Vanuatu, so I know exactly what small Pacific nations can be like wrt paradise without requisite facilities. But it's not even that simple. I put a high flow on my car and had to drive it around without a proper tune because of the lack of opportunity*** to put the bigger AFM and injectors into it to allow it to be tuned. I had to turn the boost down to less than I had before, and back off the boost controller's ramp, because it was exploring parts of the map that it didn't drive in before, and really couldn't access for tuning on the dyno either, and so was pinging. It was still well within the last column, because when I first**** set up the Nistune on the Neo I rescaled all axes of the maps to give some more space to explore. ***Family dyno was broken ****This was 13 years ago, and the TIM thing wasn't a thing then and so TP would definitely grow when pushing past the stock tune's limits.
