im looking at making 300 - 350rwkw and was wondering wot mods will be required to get to that power: the car has a rebuilt motor and is yet to be dynoed or tuned.. as Mines ECU cant be tuned so looking at perhaps getting it chipped/tuned by dr drift etc or pfc

turbo option is either the R43 N1 or 2530 as i have read both are similar and good performers

front/dump pipes along with high flow cat - any brand/size recommendations

GReddy cam gears are fitted but yet to be adjusted so should provide more horses

factory intercooler - is this capable or needs to be upgraded?

fuel pump/rail/regulator - needing upgrade? wot sort of power can they handle?

injectors - sard or nismo items perhaps as im assuming std injectors wont cut it

airflow meter - twin z32 - i read somewhere that rb26 afm's are smaller than rb20 as it uses twin afm so replacing stock items with two rb20 afm would be an upgrade??

any other suggestions or recommendation will be greatly appreciated

You will defenitly need a larger Frount Mount Intercooler and 3" pipes from the turbo back.

Also, Injectors and Fuel pump, and probably the turbos will have to be upgraded but not sure which ones...

Dont know if this will get you over 300rwkw though....

Go for the power fc, tried and proven to be more than ample for the job, and you will get the best results from it over a tuned/chipped ecu.

N1's should see 300 to 350awkw and a bit over, 25/30 will make more like 350 up to 380awkw and over..

Factory cooler will be " ok " but not ideal, better intercooler will see better performance..

Cam gears are good!

Stock fuel rail is fine, bosch 044 fuel pump and nismo reg should be perfect

Injectors will need an upgrade.. 550cc ~ 600cc should be ideal, but can go bigger if you want more head room.

Front pipes and dump pipes will reduce backpressure and will increase power as well as quicker turbo spool..

Go the z32's over the rb20's

Do you have a budget in mind and there's alot of $$'s worth of mods in there..

Ye, is it 300 or 350?

Because 34N1's are 300-320 range, 2530's are 350-400 range.

You need to decide which you want.

And what is the budget?

1) Stock I/C will be quite fine, no problem

2) I wouldnt use an FPR/rail. The stock gear is quite fine also

Stock pump might well be ok, depend on turbo choice again

3) Nismo AFM's are what you want, not Z32's.

4) Injectors - will depend on your turbo choice

5) Cam gears, a definate.

So as you can see, it depends on your turbo choice and then the following budget.

Personally, i would have a PowerFC installed and take a trip to Racepace.

How deep are your pockets ?As asked .And do you know the supporting mods you will need?

So far you have listed the mods and no supporting mods.

But before you start mods........change your oil pump, water pump, timing belt ,bearings and bolts.

Make sure your suspension and brakes are good to handle the power too.

Hope I have help.

Cheers

;)

as he said

as he said except i'd prolly do pump anyway.. only 230 for a bosch 040 which goes in with minimal fuss

4) Injectors - will depend on your turbo choice5) Cam gears, a definate.

as he said.. i'd prolly wanna throw in some poncams aswell tho if goin 2530's

Personally, i would have a PowerFC installed

definately fc like he said

    • Hi all,   anyone know where I can pick one of these up for a reasonable price? I just resprayed my rear trunk due to fuel stain and my new muse spat install.    added a photo for some content 🤣👍   thanks
    • Consider a 35 too...
    • He's right ~ there is no 'magic' with stuff like this ... it is more likely that in the process of looking for the short, the loom/wire 'incidentally' got moved in the process, thus removing the short ~ now, that maybe a wire (in a loom) rubbing against the edge of some grounded metal, that's worn through the insulation, causing the (now intermittent) short to ground. If one wire in a loom has been damaged in this fashion, it's reasonable to presume that other wires beside it may have also be damaged, and now exposed...you can bet the green crusty copper corrosion will start... ...that'd be a pisser, Murphy's Law steps right in as GTS observes...but worse, something like that is easier to find when shorted...ie; unplug bulb and fuse, and put multimeter in continuity mode so you get constant beep, and carefully poke about hoping to find if some movemet of the harness stop the beeping.... ...it's still all a bit Arnie tho' ..It'll be back... 😃
    • Yeah, but knowledge of one wire's insulation worn through to short on earth implies the possibility of other wires doing the same. I had my power steering die, because the wire that runs to the solenoid valve on the rack runs in the same loom as the power wire for the O2 sensor. And when the O2 sensor/wire did something stupid and burnt part of that loom to death, the only indication was the shit(ter) fuel economy and the heavy steering. It took deep excavation of the looms in the bay to find the problem. Not wear through in that case, but similar shit.
    • Ah, I thought he'd wired it to one of the spare ECU inputs! Too long ago since I read that post, ha ha. I've been arguing with radiators, harmonic balancers, alternators and rust since reading it.
