I know they charge a lot..I asked for quotes before, charge me somewhere about $800 for a fibre glass front bar copy...so I went somewhere else..

Where did you go for your front bar then?

I am actually after a body kit for my 'line at the moment and still doing research on where I should go for.

Cheers

My Skyline had its BodyKit done at Fibre Vision (with previous owner), I have receipts for front bar, skirts, fenders and rear bar $6000+! Bit of an overkill ay, money could've been put to better use but yeh!

Im giving them a call today because the glue has already turned to shit and sides are lifting (pritty f**ked considering the 6k was spent less then 6 months a go)!

Thanks for the comments guys.

@kx2fity

Thats a lot of money just for body kit. Would you mind to tell me a little further about it i.e. How bad is the lifting? Hows the fitting i.e. any gap between kit and car's body?

@Mitchy

I called him twice already during last week but unfortunately I could not grab a hold of him and hence couldn't get a chance to have a good talk and possibly to get a quote as well. However, I will give another try.

Btw, did you get, paint and fit your front bar from brett? Your front bar looks hot.

Cheers

mine took about 2.5 weeks to have front bar fitted, painted, etc.. and i had a few other bits and pieces cleaned up while it was there.

they get busy though, brett will let you know how long it will take. :yucky:

Yeah, I will have some scratches to clean up either...might as well do it while I get my kit done. Thanks for the info mate.

That is an awesome car you got there mate! Love the tail light.

But black colour is a bitch to keep clean aye. We are in the same boat by the way (I have a black R34) LOL!

Tell me about it, I spent over hr cleaning it yesterday and its already covered and dirt and shit!

I have a mate who cleans BMWs for a living and he gave me some pointers on cleaning black cars, and apparntly keeping their shine for longer

(light wash, dish wash detergent soak, sponge of, shammy dry, Microfibre cloth with window cleaner 'polish')

Post some pics of your car (maybe some before and after shots) of when you get your kit!

    • I've seen similar actually in my situation. You never know what tables are attempted to be used when the car thinks it's -99C or +200C. The fail state is not usually that extreme but you know what I mean - it was in my case though! This is where being able to read all the sensors is useful cause you see this stuff really quickly.
    • The above is very important. However as long as you keep timing relatively low, it's plausible to make your own knock ears and plausible to learn to tune with a modern ECU that can do wideband O2 correction like a boost controller. I mean if you only have one viable road to even drive the car on, learning to tinker to this level may be worth doing given you can't do much else with the car...?
    • I find the fact that the rear plate has to be bent inwards at the rear not so bad: but the front is just awful: It's like come on. (these are my very old, now retired/turned in plates) TBH it is a lot of money to fix a minor issue, the fact I said "I'll never really spend the money on doing this" is why people ended up buying them as a gift for a 'car guy' who can be hard to shop for.. for car guy things.
    • I just bent the ends of my premo plates. It even went through Regency like that after the engine conversion and the inspector (a great bloke!) just squinted his eyes and said "I didn't see that". Plates, and how they look, are just something that have zero importance to me.
    • Yeah, I would have said the same. It makes me suggest that there are other things wrong, such that the ECU is totally unhappy with the broken sensor. The only other thought here is that maybe it is shorted, which might cause a different issue to the typical "disconnected" sensor.
