Guys

I fear I know the answer but the car has been idling all over the place and power has been down.

Tried the old aerostart trick and went over the IC and lines and finally got to the plenum.

A squirt of aerostart onto the plenum runners between 3 & 4 upped the revs noticably. 5 & 6 less.

I am guessing the plenum is leaking or is there some little line under the plenum that would be picking up the aerostart and incresing the revs.

Second if it is the plenum leaking and I need to drop the damned engine out to fix what else should I do while it is out - seals, throttle bodies???

I am already resigned to turbs, dumps and oil cooler but what else.

Help - all ideas appreciated.

Wayne, i replaced the intake manifold gaskets shortly after I got my GTR many many years ago and its a bitch to do with the engine in as you already seem to know.

If the motors coming out, do a major service including water and oil pumps, timing belt, idler bearing etc.

Nick

wat ever you do DO NOT clean the throttle bodies.

i rebuilt my motor and had a bad idling issues like 2300rpm, tried every thing new sensors iac aac you name it, went to nissan after all that and one of the young guys asked if i had cleaned my throttle bodies with carby cleaner (which i had) and told me i need to replace them.

so i did... all fixed.

wat a pain in the ass. spent 2 months with it doing that.
