im amazed this topic is still going lol, so many stories, why does everyone race against holdens and commodores? i thought there would be more agaisnt civics and elantra's and excel's, is it because the N/A skyline will lose against the civics?

i used to own a N/A r34 thought it was fast but really they are very slow, then i decided to get a real car and got a gtt but decided its time to go the top of the pecking order and got a man's car, a r34 gtr!.

let the angry people begin posting lol.

Z32 Slicktop 300ZX, 1420kg making 131rwkw. Faster then your average NA liner, by quite a lot.

that's nothing really special. i had a manual magna making the same sort of power with just an exhaust, weighing about the same and while they are a bit quicker than a NA 'line or commodore (ran high 14's), they certainly aren't blow the doors off quick like the turbo skylines are compared to a v6 commodore. but then it depends on whether the car you are racing is auto or manual. cause if it is auto and yours is manual then of course you are going to do better.

I love this thread =\

You lot may aswell have a power walking race...it would be more exciting than watching worn out NA auto skylines trying to race 3000000000000000km old VN wagons with Hayman Reece towbars and a caravan on the back.

Yeah 3L VG30DE motor, no 0-100 times yet....but it goes alright for what it is with minor boltons.

Take a video if you can ? I'd like to see how one goes...always been kinda curious about the 300zx's.

Peak power isn't super high but i bet the torque is pretty good.

I had a fto gpx as my first car, and from 2l it put out 116 fwkw on tightarse dyno. Need to rev rev rev those type of n/a motors though and forget about it if you're going up a hill lol. It was fun still making power at rev cut 8200rpm though..

    • UPDATE: Yes the GSP Axles are compatible. I installed it on my R34 today and they are working a treat! Turns out that the S13, S14, S15, and 200 SX all used the same axles as the HR34, and ER34 NA models. Which is 2 bolt x 3 pairs.
    • Also build this EH ute with 370z motor and gearbox with a couple of turbos just for fun.
    • Got the passenger door on plus the master cylinder and booster. Loaded up to take it home. At home, the colour changes a lot in the light.
    • Nothing cheap, but I have seen the AC Hydraulic DK13HLQ which is pretty close to what you're asking for. The problem is the hydraulic cylinder mandates that the back of the jack be a certain height and Skylines have fairly deep inset floor jack points. A more certain and cheap option is to get some nominal 2x10 inch lumber boards and have one board be 1.5 feet, the other board 3 feet. Glue it all together with lots of clamps to maintain pressure. Make two of these. The ramp suggested above is a good idea, it takes quite a bit of clutch slip to get over each of the boards. I only need the first ~1.5 inches for my low profile jack on a standard ride height car but a lowered car you want to go up to the full ~3-3.5 inches. Paint it or store indoors if you want it to last.
    • Ok. And Nistune? I read (here too) mainly on Stagea threads that it can by "turn off" with Nistune. But they say they still had the sensor plug in. Next week iam going to the Nistune(and other ECUs) tuner so i can finally make it work. I drove the car home and apart from the cut it drove great. No misfire no smoke no hesitation or rough start...so hoping it is this sensor that is missing
