Ok i am considering selling my rims and getting sumthing different.

All depends on what price i can get.

17inch OZ racing rims (forged so they are really light), a few scratches on them on the outer rings, fronts wearing 225 40's and rears wearing 255 40's, 95% thread left, front 85% thread left.

Looking For sensible offers.

Heres the info from the oz racing website

Superturismo

The historical wheel of O Z production was created for rally circuits, the racetracks of Le Mans and for Supertourism. The racing version, which equipped the Audi R8s, won the first four positions in the American Le Mans Series in 2002; in the WRC it carried Marcus Grönholm to victory in his Peugeot 206 and in the European Supertourism Championship, it brought Fabrizio Giovardi to the podium with his Alfa 156 GTA. Sixteen spokes of pure power, perfectly designed to exalt the vehicle's performance, favour cooling of the braking system and avoid rim ovalization due to stress. O Z has transferred design perfection and field tested racing technology to the wheel that summarizes better than any other the slogan that has always animated the firm: "from the track to the road", for the safety of those who love sports driving.

Hi Denham,

I kinda like ur wheels, but I got insurance to pay this month and just paid rego last month, so my pocket a bit hurt and light....

If you still have them in the next 2 months, maybe I'll give you a decent offer.

i will measure them properly and let u know tomorrow!

rianto

i was looking at getting rid of em prety soon

Sixteen spokes of pure power

for a while one would have thought the manufacturer to be japanese... :P

however i'd think ur estimate of the weight is a tad under...

i would say the weight would be about 4-5 kg with the 255 40 tyre on.

a racing hart cp035 wheel in 17x8 weighs over 6kg and a volk racing te37 wheel in 17x7.5 weighs nearly 7kg so to think an oz racing superturismo in 17x8 weighs 4-5kg, i'd think that's being very optimistic because they are cast, not forged:uh-huh: ... something more like 10-11kg a corner is more conservative, and that's without tyres...

edit: happy easter! :D

i meansured em tody with a ruler coz i could find my measuring tape. The fronts are around 23cm wide and the rear around 27cm wide

23cm is a touch more than 9 inches

27cm is a bit over 10.5 inches.

those are quite wide if the measurements are correct!

maybe call up the place you got them from?!

from the looks of how the 235s and 255s are sitting theyre probably around 8 front and 9 rear

anyway, good luck with the sale, what rims you after now?

    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
    • Yeah dunno why johhny posted that here with no context, just post on FB/insta bro where he put it up?  Laine had an off at T4 during Thurs prac, he's ok, car is less than perfect, they are done for the weekend, he can fill in the rest. Bando also binned it like 100m up the road.
