So i put $50 fuel into the tank.. drove home.. parked.. got up this morning drove to work and on the way there i noticed my fuel light was on. I doubt anyones syphoned the fuel as the latch is in perfect nic and the cap is still on there. Anyone got any ideas what the problem could be?

Cheers for any help guys, im pretty stumped on this one

either faulty gauge/sender, hole somewhere, or someone syphoned it. it isn't that hard to open filler flaps. and just because the cap is on doesn't mean much. the theif may have just been polite enough to put it back on.

Check they didn't screwdriver the tank, lots of times they just use a screwdriver with a sharp point on it, one hit with a hammer and then the fuel drains into a bucket. You end up with a hole in your fuel tank. If they use a pillow/rag, you don't even hear it happen.

Sometimes they get cunning and gum the hole up, then you fill up again and they only have to punch out the goop to drain your tank again the next night.

But its prolly a sender unit.
