hello

i have an apexi turbo timer and have checked the apexi site but im still a bit confused on the wiring. I am putting it into a r32 gtst skyline.

do i NEED a harness or can i just hard wire it in?

im not using my handbrake cable so im just leaving that our, the other cable are

red- constant 12v

black- earth

grey- handbrake( not using)

blue- accessory power and ignition?

yellow- ignition?

i have all wired in besides handbrake, and the two ignition wires, now do i need 2 ignition wires or do i just hav one on the accessory power supply and 1 on the ignition. and what wires do i plug into the ECU if any? any help appreciated, such as which ignition wires to splice into!

thanks

Josh

If it wont work without handbrake wire wired it may need a positive charge so hook the handbrake cable to accesories. Try it not wired first.

ok i have ;

red- constant 12v

grey- accessory power (handbrake one)

blue- (accessorty power)

yellow- ignition ON

and black earthed

and its still not turning on or lighting up? ive checked all the wires and joins and they seem fine,

that is wired up right isnt it ? :S

ok as far as i can tell:

red- constant 12v

black- earth

grey- handbrake( not using)

blue- accessory power and ignition?

yellow- ignition?

red is the input into the unit, when the ignition is off, the timer routes this power through the yellow to keep the ignition on.

the blue wire must be the trigger, whe acc+ign go off, the blue wire loses voltage and the timer switches the yellow on (or, the yellow is always on, and the blue lets the timer know that it is now in control)

yellow and blue may be the other way around (to keep ign and acc on, i dont know) but this is probably how it works

earth is earth. duh.

so all that is left is the handbrake grey wire. this must be a safeguard of some sort so it knows you are parked. )if you crash and switch off engine/it cuts out, i doubt you ill have the handbrake on). This looks to be the problem then, whatever signal you are putting through this wire is the wrong one. If you still have the handbrake wwire connected to your handbrake ie dash light works, then run a cable to the loom on the handbrake in your console, you only have to remove the handbrake boot and you should be able to see it. if that makes it work, then hide the wire under the console and your done, if not, maybe you blew the timer setting it up

good luck. i dont have a timer, and have never installed one, but im a logical man and this is how i assume it works
