Hey guys,

Trying to find someone who can professionally install my new seats (32 GTR) into my S13.

SiN helped me install the passenger one, but theres one space thats off the mark, im assuming a new hole will need to be drilled etc... but i figured id get em both done properly...

so yeah anyone know a place that do good seat installs?

Cheers guys.

Beau

Haig Park Service Centre 6241 7410 and/or Pride Auto Accesories 6280 6222.

Yellow pages pg 939. Motor Car seats &/or conversions ;)

Tried Haig Park Service Centre and theyre actually roof rack city... :) but they said to call Pride Auto Accesories. gave them a call and was told to take the seats in for an approximate price... got some rough idea's on price... round $500+ doesnt sound cheap...

Thats how much it cost to get a monza seat mounted in my datsun in custom position with custom rails involving cutting the body to get the seat on the floor and all sorts of jazz. well worth it though as i have a perfectly mounted seat.

I did it with an engineer mate in a backyard over a weekend though and paid for the use of all his tools (inc hoist) and his expertise...

Can you use ideal seat co rails at all, they are really good - they cost though ($550 for the pair in my old car) but you keep the whole factory looking rail and don't need an engineers....

so the only holes that don't line up are the ones that anchor the rear of the seat on the outside ie the ones at the front and the ones that anchor to the trans tunnel are OK?

if that's the case just take them to a fabricator and tell them what you need, find someone in the yellow pages that does jobbing work ie small stuff. they will want to know the distance between the hole in the seat leg and the hole in the floor, centre to centre. also tell them you want about 10mm metal around the new hole.

and make sure you use big ass washers - 20mm diam or so - under the mounting bolts because you don't want them to rip through the anchors. get them from specialty fasteners in Fyshwick.

let us know how you go.

alternatively, have a look and you'll see the runners are probably rivetted to the frame. figure out how far back the runner needs to go, and have a close look at how they are riveted. i did this when doing a conversion and there just happened to be unused holes that lined up perfectly if i drilled out the rivets and moved the runners back. i used bolts to hold it together, had it welded in the new place and it was perfect.

    • Sorry to hear your HFM BM57 was faulty,  did you contact HFM I would hope they would be at least grateful for the information if there was some sort of manufacturing fault, you would hope they would be sympathetic even if your item was 2 years old if it had never been fitted. May I ask where it leaked from ?

LOL I have already installed cat doors into the laundry where their kitty litter is, and the sun room, apart from the cat doors there's not going to be any permanent mounted stuff on the interior walls (interior doors are cheap and easy to replace) I will get a outdoor cat cage thingie once I finish the landscaping out back... https://catnip.com.au/ The only off limit areas are the main bedroom and the gym room....but, currently the cats are curled up in bed, in the main bedroom with the Mrs.....LOL, the off limits for the kittens to the main bedroom lasted about 5 minutes with Jackie I currently only have 1 free standing huge cat tree multiple level scratching post thingie in the lounge room, but, I will be getting another one soon now that I'm happy with the furniture layout in the back room and have a perfect spot for it
    • All of this is making it seem clear that running the Coppermix twin was definitely the way to go, especially in hindsight with how insane tariffs have gotten and the strength of the USD vs yen at the time.
    • That sounds like no chance of even importing one for road registering then Now I see why Duncan wants to check LHD rules for Targa...   I wonder how "bolt in" the AWD would be if you got one imported from the US and swapped it to an AUD one
