Jdfnq
If the steering angle is incorrect, you will get an error code telling you that. I have a stock wheel on my series II R33. I do get an error code telling me that my speed sensor is not present. I have done this diag on several other R33's with great sucess.... I don't always get the car to wiggle it's bum ( it does this the first 5 or 6 times that you put it into diag mode) as I believe that you may need to reset the ECU after several attempts....... As everytime I try to put it into diag mode now for the HICAS, it just shows up the error code (21 in my instance) pretty much straight away.... When I get a chance, I will re-set the ECU and see if that makes any difference Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/146277-hicas-and-steering/page/2/#findComment-3410900 Share on other sites
SKYPER
I've found out with one sensor that ECU doesn't always detect a slight fluctuation in voltage. For example the voltage difference was roughly 0.02v from recommended voltage for that sensor. Basically wasn't enough for ECU to detect sensor is faulty and produce an error code. ECU thought everything was working properly. Found this problem sensor by checking via volt meter at the sensors. That's interesting about the 5-6 times. Jmaac
Make sure the speed signal wire isnt cut also, HICAS uses it. Use your a/m ECU to get rid of the speed cut Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/146277-hicas-and-steering/page/2/#findComment-3416643 Share on other sites

R33S2
If you have a PFC it should work fine, the PFC piggybacks the ECU and feeds it false info to trick into doing the right thing. SilverECR33
If you have a PFC it should work fine, the PFC piggybacks the ECU and feeds it false info to trick into doing the right thing. you mean it piggybacks the hicas ecu? or do u mean the PFC mimics the ecu? R33S2
it piggybacks it meaning it intercepts the engine signals and atlers them so the ecu produces the right responses. SilverECR33
i know it theoretically it should work but its not. Me and joe tried at length on the phone to get it working but no go, also i have messaged paulr33 on this matter, but no one has confirmed it works with the pfc yet. Have you got it working yet? I am not using the car for drifting, so Id like to continue to use it. Really comes down to driver preference, And Id like to see how far I can excel with the Hicas. Ive driven Non hicas cars my whole life, And Im liking the technology. Please dont whore this thread. Lets keep discussions on track.
