So I refitted my standard air box. My impressions after driving with it:

Feels much torquier and responsive at lower revs (500 - 3,500rpm)

Notiecable loss of power at higher revs, not as much pull past 4,500rpm

The engine feels 'sturdier' or something because of the reduced sound.

Verdict: standard air box is good if you drive in traffic (which i do a lot of now); it's much more driveable/liveable. Pod is excellent for performance but you suffer a little at lower revs.

Incidentally, my apexi pod + mounting brackets + UAS fibreglass cold air box + cold air ducting are for sale - pm me if interested. Bolts straight onto n/a R33.

Yep I found the same also. Removed the pod because it was too much of a hassle getting a proper air partition setup.

Quite bizzare as you would think that you'd get gains throughout the entire rev range when fitting a pod filter.

pretty much exactly the same experience as me.

if you have a read in the turbo section, they claim the standard airbox is good for 200rwkw+

I'm at 205rwkw with the standard airbox, and my mate is at around 240rwkw with it, so it does the job :)

Are you running a high flow panel filter in the standard airbox as well, or the stock one? That might see you flow a bit better in the top end, too.

How about any CAI plumbing? Can you vent air into the airbox's intake snorkel from a high pressure zone outside the car?

You might find that, with those two simple bits, that you'll get that same increase in midrange with an almost equal amount of top-end gain as a pod filter.

Got a hi flow K&N panel in there, that i'll be replacing with an apexi dry panel when I can be bothered...Not a big fan of the oiled elements...

No CAI as such...running the stock snorkel, and having a blitz LM front mount that uses the stock piping, the hole that most people have free under the airbox when they get an aftermarket fmic is still used on my car

    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
    • Yeah, shame. Maybe  driver's carpet is available 🙏. I am waiting for both amayama and nangun to confirm.
    • Probably. I take it that they are also mentioned to be for R34 Skyline? For example.... RDA has that part as RDA7957. I have the dimpled and slotted version of that on my car https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/285518478694?srsltid=AfmBOopKxMuAFpsxZJdB1cam4D5RAj1f9yJyOttPZLAwXVNCOiwlhrIy This is DBA's top one piece equivalent https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/364246686631?srsltid=AfmBOorbb0XHQgqTvZLgQPhg70nqJtGvdojKnugum3O2LFSr2h-obp8D
