man im kinda glad i dont live in Oz anymore. It was this kind of " kick the guy when hes down" attituted that was a deciding factor in my move to Tokyo. except in this case its only a kid. Where do people get off sticking the boot in? So what if he blew his motor? thats a price he was going to have to be willing to pay when doing the things he did.

the video on youtube? didnt see it. And judging by the replys a lot of others didnt either. Thats not the point anyway. You harpoon this kid while at the same time hiding the fact that when we were P platers we did exactly the same bloody things..

so you think "hypocrites" isnt an appropriate word for people who act like this? I do.

and i wont hide the fact that i did stupid things behind the wheel when i was 18. lots of dumb things. more than just inside a car. you ALL did too.

cut him some slack. No ONE got hurt. His engine is gonna cost a motza to fix. If he had any brains after this hed take a defensive driver course or get a cams license. and let loose on a circuit.

Many of you fail to realise and understand that this is not reasonably or practically viable n many instances. So people resort to the street. The kids BIGGEST mistake, more thaan letting rip or blowing his motor was posting on Youtube. Its made millionaires into buffons and no-ones into someones. Unfortunately, in this case, it showed his stupidity to the world and with it SAU members.

dont rip him because of the double edged sword the internet is. advice should be given. Not a beating.

get a bloody grip.

Aww, everytime theres one of these it gets deleted b4 i get to see it, i sorta don't see why a burnout is such a big deal anyway.. Spose because of the stickers.. =.=

and look at the lynching the kid copped because of it.

you know...NO-ONE else on SAU ( heaven forbid!! ) would do anything of the sort! wouldnt be seen dead with smoke comiing off the tyres...

and posting it on the internet with club stickers showing....being a club member is completely different from joining the forum.

funny how some people are bagging the guy then admitting they do the same thing with their parents' cars.....

i spose that's ok coz they don't have the sau stickers on....

i'm not gonna jump on the wagon and start bagging the guy coz i can't say i never done the same thing myself.

meh..

the point being made... was that he was giving the club a bad name by being a dick on public roads.. with people around, whilst having the club stickers on his car.

im the first to admit im no angel on the roads... ive never once stated i am. but being a sick c**t at sum random industrial estate at 3am where theres noone around is different to a main road in sydney.

thats the point... its giving the club a bad name. the club and forum are 2 different things...

if you have the skylines australia stickers on the car, your representing the club by doing so... thats the point being made.

yep, nobody cares, not giving the club a bad name. It's kinda like cheating on vce exams and getting caught, you did it not the rest of your school, but your school still gets a bad name to the public not you.....

oh, so ii have to have a SAU sticker before i can state my opinion? and btw, did you even SEE the video?

that's fair enough.

noone said you need an SAU sticker to state your opinion

you should probably read the posts before commenting.

i read your posts.

you went A LOT further than that. you know it too.

you made youre point. dont keep sticking in the boot. its unnecessary.or dont you think so?

i made my point with the first few posts.

the other posts ive made in this thread are just correcting people such as yourself or agreeing with someone else...

ok i did see the video..

he was on a main road.. the wheels were not just spinning and smoking.. the car was moving around, he obviously didnt know how to control it, the car in front of him started to move away cos he couldnt tell where the car was going to slide off to next..

its was a stupid thing to do, in the middle of the day, in the main road at wisemans ferry, on a hill.. with cars parked around him, people trying to drive on the road and people walking past.

i for one, can say, I have NEVER done some thing like that.

and then to say he was proud of doing it, is even more stupid.

I have stuck up for you in the past Alex. but this is just stupid..

this is just as bad as you getting pulled over doing, what was it again, 40 over the speed limit? in a 60/70 zone?

im not sticking up for you this time buddy

you all sit here and bag the shit outa this block for posting a video of himself doing a skid, your telling me when you watched the top secret cars do 300km++ runs on the open road putting everyone in a much greater danger with huge TOP SECRET down the side you sat there and thought "shame on you top secret for posting this" wake up to reality theres alot more forum members who have video's of them doing stupid shit on open roads.. yet nothing becomes of it. as m3gtr said get a grip...

what i meant to say was " become a club member" in response to another post.

    • For once a good news  It needed to be adjusted by that one nut and it is ok  At least something was easy But thank you very much for help. But a small issue is now(gearbox) that when the car is stationary you can hear "clinking" from gearbox so some of the bearing is 100% not that happy... It goes away once you push clutch so it is 100% gearbox. Just if you know...what that bearing could be? It sounding like "spun bearing" but it is louder.
    • Yeah, that's fine**. But the numbers you came up with are just wrong. Try it for yourself. Put in any voltage from the possible range and see what result you get. You get nonsense. ** When I say "fine", I mean, it's still shit. The very simple linear formula (slope & intercept) is shit for a sensor with a non-linear response. This is the curve, from your data above. Look at the CURVE! It's only really linear between about 30 and 90 °C. And if you used only that range to define a curve, it would be great. But you would go more and more wrong as you went to higher temps. And that is why the slope & intercept found when you use 50 and 150 as the end points is so bad halfway between those points. The real curve is a long way below the linear curve which just zips straight between the end points, like this one. You could probably use the same slope and a lower intercept, to move that straight line down, and spread the error out. But you would 5-10°C off in a lot of places. You'd need to say what temperature range you really wanted to be most right - say, 100 to 130, and plop the line closest to teh real curve in that region, which would make it quite wrong down at the lower temperatures. Let me just say that HPTuners are not being realistic in only allowing for a simple linear curve.
    • I feel I should re-iterate. The above picture is the only option available in the software and the blurb from HP Tuners I quoted earlier is the only way to add data to it and that's the description they offer as to how to figure it out. The only fields available is the blank box after (Input/ ) and the box right before = Output. Those are the only numbers that can be entered.
    • No, your formula is arse backwards. Mine is totally different to yours, and is the one I said was bang on at 50 and 150. I'll put your data into Excel (actually it already is, chart it and fit a linear fit to it, aiming to make it evenly wrong across the whole span. But not now. Other things to do first.
    • God damnit. The only option I actually have in the software is the one that is screenshotted. I am glad that I at least got it right... for those two points. Would it actually change anything if I chose/used 80C and 120C as the two points instead? My brain wants to imagine the formula put into HPtuners would be the same equation, otherwise none of this makes sense to me, unless: 1) The formula you put into VCM Scanner/HPTuners is always linear 2) The two points/input pairs are only arbitrary to choose (as the documentation implies) IF the actual scaling of the sensor is linear. then 3) If the scaling is not linear, the two points you choose matter a great deal, because the formula will draw a line between those two points only.
