Hi all,

I have an RB20DET and was wiring up my AVCR to it the other day only to find out that my computer doesn’t have a RPM signal wire. The taco doesn’t work obviously and never has. So what I want to find out, is how to hook up an after market taco to the car? Any help would be appreciated.

mmm.. I like Taco's....

sry... I couldn't help myself... :whistling:

Is it the standard Tacho that doesn't work, or are you referring to an aftermarket Tacho that has never worked?

Edited by insanity

The RB20 is in my S13, so the standard taco hasnt been hooked up. But the actual ECU wire for RPM signal is not even there. So I am going to try to hook up an aftermarket Taco, so I need to know where the wiring would go for that, like to a wire in the igniter unit or something?

Well, if you can explain to me how to hook my standard S13 taco up I would more than prefer to use that, but I have been told many a time that this is not possible due to it being a taco for a 4 cyl.

some one is feedin u bullshit the tacho will work but will read wrong u need to put a r32 tacho in the the s13 cluster 4 it to work and read proplery

did u do the conversion or did some one do it 4 u

TACOS

The sandwich of Mexico

Ingredients

DIEGO'S & GRINGOS white corn tortillas

Chopped chicken, steak or mince, cooked with a little salt and pepper to taste, or a few teas. taco seasoning.

Finely shredded lettuce, chopped onion and chopped tomato

Grated cheese

MEXI SAUCE

Little oil for frying

Preparation

Prepare all the fillings ahead

Have a covered bowl lined with paper towels standing by (this will be your "tortilla warmer")

Use enough oil to cover bottom of fry pan. To prepare on the grill, just spread a little oil on the surface, make sure you grill is not too hot. This is a good way to do a lot at a time.

Using tongs place the tortillas one or two at a time in the pan,

Cook until limp and a light golden brown, remove, pat with paper towel and place in the tortilla warmer, keep covered.

Everything goes on the table, and everyone builds their own.

There are any number of ingredients that can be used to make the taco even more special. Try: guacamole or sliced avocado, sour cream, fresh salsa (recipe in entree section), tiny diced potatoes fried golden brown, refried, borlotti, pinto, or kidney beans all of these are frequently used.

Other Notes

TO EAT - Just take a tortilla from the warmer, fold in half and fill, don't get your tortilla too full as it will split or break on you, its not rude to have 5 or 6.

    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
