The stupid thing is, my 60foot time was 2.4 (which is crap, but getting better its usually around 2.5) and my quickest terminal speed was 104.5mph so thats up as well... I just cant seem to get from 0-400 any quicker today than 14.18 *shrug* I give up. Should just buy a GTR and be done with it.

Ok, my best terminal speed was 104.52mph that run was:

60' 3.003 sec (wheelspin, didnt grab too well)

330' 6.899 sec

660' 9.943 sec

1000' 12.516 sec

ET 14.680 sec @ 104.52mph

funnily enough I ran a 14.698 with a terminal speed of 89.82mph, 60' time of 2.561, so I'm beginning to wonder if terminal speed really means diddly squat. My best 60' time was 2.422 that run:

60' 2.422 sec (bit of wheelspin)

330' 6.234 sec

660' 9.322 sec

1000' 11.945

ET 14.158 @ 102.27mph

All my launches were done at 2000-2500 revs and dropping the clutch, I think I had about 1/2 throttle on but I cant remember, everytime I bogged down or wheelspun. I know my pineapples are lose cos they have been making ratteling noises, the workshop wouldnt over-tighten them so they've come loose again. Next time I am gonna insist they overtighten them. But my problem lies in the fact I cant get the car to hookup right with no wheelspin or not bog down. I've got 225/50 dunlop sp9000's on the rear wth around 20psi in the back, the only thing I didnt do was a burnout, but I dont really think it would have helped. Any idea's guys cos I'm getting pissed off spending $30 and not getting the times the car is capable of.

rob - i got my best results with a 3000rpm launch - but it did bog down a bit..

hmm me confused.. the car sounds like it should do alot better.. do you need to work on your gear changes? hows the 1st-2nd change? you can loose quite a bit of momentum if that change isn't quick...

My gear changes are good, its the launch that is letting me down I feel. I was only there for 30 minutes cos the missus rang me and apparently my mother in law was a bit upset I wasnt going to be there for lunch, so at 12:30 I sped back home. There was **** all people there, so I reckon its the best time to go, in 30 minutes I got 5 runs, thats better than any wednesday night session and it takes 2-3 hrs to get that many runs.

Yeah, have it balanced on the friction point, and just use the handbrake to stop you moving forward. Then when the last orange is about to go, drop the hand brake and the car will ease off the line, no wheelspin or axle tramp.

1.6m to look after the race line so your doing about 2.0s and

13.7-8s on the real 1/4 1.6m at the start is heaps.

1.6m at the start is the same as 1.6m at the end, and would make bugger all difference to the 1/4 time.

At 104mph, or 46m/sec, 1.6m extra track would add an extra 0.035s .... which at 14.18s would give you 14.14s quarter mile.

:uh-huh:

    • I seem to the be only person that is using a Haltech 2500 on an NA motor, I've installed a Bosch DBW throttle body to the OEM intake manifold and am having problems maintaining AFR even with the wideband o2.  It will run extremely rich at idle and up to redline, but under load it will go extremely lean in the 20s and i'm essentially having to rev it over 4k and feather the clutch to get it up to speed.  I've read a few other threads of about the butterfly, it seems removing the vacuum to it is supposed to have it remain open, i've noticed no difference under 4k with the vacuum line to it plugged.  I'm hoping someone here has had luck using the NA manifold with Haltech, and if they happen to have a tune for it.
    • I don't know any details, but I really wouldn't be surprised if they do it as a LHD only version, at least initially.
    • Thanks for the replies everyone. Definitely a coolant push. Oil catch can is empty and always has been. As the engine is out now I'll be having a good look over things. I do have some detonation on the piston tops from a trigger issue back about 5 years ago. I felt it and shut off then bought a new ecu and changed the trigger. Never been an issue since. It never hurt the power, its made almost 80hp more since that incident but I will pull the bearing caps to take a look. If the bearings are damaged I will do a bottom end refresh. Head is being re conditioned at the moment and the block will be cleaned and checked to ensure it's flat. I'll go with a kameari gasket and see how it ends up. The other thing I'm not super keen on is the cylinder colours. I suspect this is from the inlet manifold. The plan will be to put it back together, retune and then stick a plazmaman billet inlet on it and retune. I'm happy with the power, if it makes a little more, then great, but I would rather just make everything more efficient at this stage.
    • Maybe they'll look to do a bunch of presales to help inject some cash fast for their financial issues...
    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
