Hey guys,

Just wanted to ask what product(s) you use to protect your r32 dashboard. My current dashboard has bubbled as i have seen in many r32's. I managed to buy a 2nd hand dash off some1 on SAU who was wrecking a gts4 which is not bubbled.

As such I dont want this dash to go down the same track so im wondering what is best to use to protet it, im going to buy the biggest UV windscreen protector i can find to keep the sun off it obviously as i know what that can do to it, but i have heard armorall can dry out the plastic and cause the plastic to crack. Apparently it makes it look shiny and new but when it dries up it takes all the moisture with it...

Most interested for your feedback!!

Best bet is to just keep the sun off of it and keep it some place cool.

Yeah deff, but when i clean the car inside and out, i like it all to look immaculate, which is why i used to use armorall on the current dash. So beside covering it from the sun, I wanted to know what products would protect the plastic and make it look its best...

Probably not the response you were lookin for but when i had my GTR i bought a dash mat for the dash.

Ok it doesnt look as good with it on, but it sure as hell looks after it.

I got mine from Autoworx in Perth, not sure who else sells them but i only payed about $40 - $60 from memory.

Is a great investment. Had mine on for well over a year and the dash didnt bubble or crack at all.

Haha, I was wondering if there would be a way to get a dash mat for a JDM car like the 32. I am not a fan of dash mats cause to me they are the same as a car bra, why protect it all the time if its always covered and u rarely see it in its full glory.

However i was thinking of having a mat on when i park the car etc then just leave it in the boot or whatever when im in the car, but might be better to just use the UV window cover so the rest of the car is protected from the sun too...

    • Yes the gear for the R33/34 is different, it is red and has a different number of teeth. My part didn't come with that gear though, so I don't know how many teeth are on the red one. You'd have to reuse the 260RS/R33 gear, as long as it's not destroyed.   Haha, as unfortunate as that might be it was working fine for about the first 1500km I've had the car for now.
    • Update all   thanks to the workshop manual, it lead me back to checking fuses as mentioned central locking and door open lights worked when acc was switched on. diagram attached shows two points of power 1. ACC and 2.  Batt with the later being fused (#28) I did check the fuses using a multimeter but I must have stuffed that up also. Went back and checked the batt fuse in interior fuse box and you wouldn’t believe it… a blown fuse. replaced fuse and everything is now working as it should including the climate control   thank you all with your positive insight and knowledge.
    • Where is the warning "That this thread is super old"   I just went into a 5 year old thread, went to do a reply, and couldn't see anywhere obvious a warning of it being super old
    • Duncan is correct. Pitwork (and Toyota's own cheap brand "Drive Joy") were primarily created as brands to sell other manufacturers car parts. It would be weird if Nissan sold parts for Toyota vehicles with a Nissan logo on it, so they created Pitwork to sell parts for other brans Toyota, Honda etc. They are not the same as Nissan genuine parts, although they *do* meet Nissan's standards for replacement parts. They aren't supposed to be a substitute for genuine parts, but a cheaper alternative that is better than Ebay fake parts from you-know-where.
