Newbie Needs Some Help

Im gonna run a bosch 040 in tank pump with better power wires running to it, and have the option of fitting a 044 helper pump and a surge tank down the track a bit. not sure on the injectors at this stage. how those ecu's going?

Why not just run a 023 and then you dont need the helper :P

what time is good to head up 2 burnie 2morro? bout 5 or so or after 7 ? will talk to you about ecu's then cheers Damo

Honestly unless your having fueling issue's or chasin big HP or thinking of drift/drag then i wouldn't really worry about a surge tank for a daily.

Both the 040/023 would flow enough to support your mods without having the need for a surge tank would it not???

yeah a 040 would have no issues. The R33 tank has almost an inbuilt surge tank anyway, the pump sits in a deeeepppp hollow at the bottom of teh tank. I have had almost no fuel and kaned it arround corners and still no surge.

Dont' forget the 040 flows about 3 times more fuel then standard, so there will not be a problem with flow.

ALSO if you replace the pump and run higher pressures, i would replace ALLL the fuel hoses and new clamps and a new BIGER filter.

I didn't change 3 hoses, and they split, so it's a good insurance. Scott at Purple pig will help you out there.

YEP the 040 would be fine, to be on the safe side then go the 023 (flow more but same size) and you shouldn't have any problems at all.

As Wog said change all your hoses and clamps as well cause it can/has/will come back to bite you :D

Thanx for ure input boys, have just secured the pump, i think it will do the job for now! (hehe) now to put all my new toys in the car!! Fmic =on the way frm just jap, pfc= on the way frm slide, fuel pump= on the way frm maroon, bc = in, 1 down 3 to go!!, cheers Damo

      That's not a transistor --- it's marked ZD1 which makes it a zener diode. As to what the breakdown voltage is, not enough there to divine.

      Hi all, Long time since I've posted here. Looking for some advice on what I can remove to further identify the cause of my issues.  I can move the passenger seat forward and back but the knob used to adjust the seat angle is pretty much free spinning, there's very little resistance.  Removing the side cover I can see that the chain is intact but the shaft for the adjustment spins without the gear attached to it moving.  What's my next step for disassembly here? Is this a common fault? Just being a little cautious as I didn't want to start removing bolts for a spring to fly out or something equally as stupid.  Cheers

      The incentives are mostly the same, yes. Ethanol is cheap compared to the cost of doing 98-100 RON with crude oil alone. 87 to 93-94 AKI all with E10. In 2020 Canada mandated E10 as a part of their "renewable fuel standard" and is supposedly going to go to E15 in 2030. In California where there are only 8 refineries with two threatening to shut down next year it's been over 20 years now of E10 and 91 AKI maximum because there's just not enough refinery capacity or crude oil supply relative to the demand for premium unleaded fuel. And CARB's low carbon fuel standard means functionally none of the diesel available at the pump is made from crude oil anymore. It's almost all entirely 20% biodiesel blended with 80% renewable diesel (hydrotreated vegetable oil) now. The number of gasoline vehicles that support E15 or higher ethanol concentrations is surprisingly low, I can't imagine it being wise to play tricks like this without flex fuel sensors in most of the fleet.
